When the wheel and spear were going to meet, within a second, Veera Pandiya blew a war cone; suddenly big wheel separated into six small wheels and surrounded all the spears.
It was like six small wheels circled, forming a big wheel. In the middle of the extensive process, Chola's soldiers who formed spear formation stuck. Now some soldiers from the small wheel formation went fight with the Chola's soldiers. Other Pandian soldiers maintain the both-wheel appearance.
Looking at Chola's soldiers in danger, Parthivendra Pallavan sent another batch to help and retreat the previous set. But Pandiya's soldiers from wheel formation didn't allow any of them. They killed all without any mercy.
After a long time, Parthivendra Pallavan blew the cone, and all Chola warriors' troops retreated. This time Chola's side got more casualties and many more died.
Seeing all this, Vikrama Kesari gave his order the next moment to his calvary, shouting, "Lion Face". Next few seconds, hundreds of soldiers formed in a formation like a Lion's face. Some developed as eyes, some noses, ears, and mane, and a few formed mouths.
With Chola's soldiers' roars and horse movements, it looks like many lions roaring with fury.
After seeing Chola's formation, Veera Pandian chuckled and ordered his calvary, "Elephant Face". In another few seconds, a few hundred Pandian soldiers stand in an elephant's face formation.
The elephant's face looks even more majestic, and many soldiers formed heads, large ears, terrifying eyes, large trunks and Ivories. Pandian soldiers roar equally, shaking the earth.
Lion and elephant facing each other, both side horn the cone, both sides flowed on the centre of the battlefield. To form an elephant face formation, we need to double the count of the lion's face. Like how a single ferocious elephant tosses everything where it passes., Pandiyan soldiers knocked Cholas' soldiers with their horses and slayed them with their swords and sabres.
Horses and horses knocked, and swords and sabres clashed. Since the elephant formation contains more soldiers than the Lion formation, it becomes one side massacre. Again, Chola's side faced more casualties.
Seeing Chola's soldiers going to lose, without thinking, Parthivendra Pallavan ordered his infantry, "Soldiers, form Lion Face and attack."
Watching Chola's Infantry roaring and coming towards the battlefield with lion face formation, Veera Pandian ordered, "Infantry soldiers, you all also form elephant face formation and block the incoming Cholas' infantry."
Soon, Pandian soldiers also formed the same elephant face, but this time, infantry created it and fought with Chola's. The result was the same. Veera Pandian soldiers successfully blocked Cholas' lion face formation and slaughtered Chola's warriors.
Parthivendra Pallavan and Vikrama Kesari are bewildered, and Parthivendra Pallavan mutter, "How is this possible? How can a lion lose to an elephant? Aren't our soldiers aggressively fighting?"
Vikrama Kesari replied, "No, I understood. An elephant's face has more soldiers than a Lion's; since it is like that, each of our soldiers in a lion's face has to face two or three soldiers from an elephant's face."
Parthivendra Pallavan asked, "Then, what do we do now?"
Vikrama Kesari replied, "Hmm, if one Lion face is not enough, then we will send Lion's faces."
Parthivendra Pallavan's eyebrows rose with excitement, and he understood Vikrama Kesari's meaning. Suddenly many lions' faces are formed from calvary and infantry from Chola's army, flowing like they found their favourite food to hunt.
Looking at many lions, Veera Pandiyan, like he was expecting this to happen, waved his arm like he was ordering his soldier from his back. A large army moved on both sides.
When did Veera Pandiyan order more elephant formations from his infantry and cavalries? Many elephants marched like a flood and faced many lions faces from Cholas' army.
Now a herd of elephants and lions fought. Now, no one knows which side is winning this round of war. All one could see were fountains of blood each second like it was raining, and it continued for the next four nazhigai (1.6 Hours).
Now, Veera Paniyan noticed that soldiers stopped fighting slowly, and casualties were high from his side; they were dying more and more. He was shocked and muttered, "How did it happen? Will the elephant face easily defeat the lion-faced soldiers? How did it happen? How?"
But the answer came from Vikrama Kesari, "Pallava, we made the right move. It took much work for them to merge and separate while fighting with enemies in the elephant formations since it has two hundred to three hundred soldiers in a single elephant face formation. Moreover, there is little space since a single elephant already occupies ample space.
But our lion formation has been formed by only one hundred soldiers, has more spaces, and it is easy for us to merge and separate to form many lion face formations."
But Veera pandiyan could not hear this since he was on another battlefield.
