Silence. Nothing but awkward silence. For the past fifteen minutes, no one has said a word, and we've just been sitting in this awkward dreary silence.
I'm no stranger to awkward situations, but if they keep staring at me like this, even I'll get uncomfortable.
I can tell what they want, the questions they want to ask, and the answers they want to hear. I know all of that, but this is still a hassle. I can't tell them the truth, and I can't think of a proper lie, so we've just sat here silently. I'm tired.
I want to erase their memories of the moment I let doubt sow in their minds. I want to erase their memories of the entire event, but then, what would have been the point of everything that led me to this situation?
Sigh, I suddenly really want to go back to being a shut-in NEET.
Let's just get this over with.
"You can ask what you want to ask," I start with a sigh.
