Chapter 10 - And So, My Castle Is An SS-Rank Dungeon

A lot of things are different for sure but... What the hell?! What the heck is that doing here?!

Your kidding right? Net, when you said you took everything from my game character and copied it to me, you included this? Well, honestly I can't really say I'm surprised at this point. I managed to pass the gate even while in my human form, though it was a whole hassle explaining why I had no papers identifying myself, and another hassle having to get new said papers to identify myself. And after all that, once I looked up at the sky, I see this. I can't tell if what I'm currently feeling right now is relief, joy, or just the urge to laugh.

Hm? Private information? Does it mean it would show me everything about Erandelle?

"Yes," I answer.

Huh, as I thought. It allowed me to view Erandelle's schematics. The map, access to the barrier- everything. But, I already knew all this. I mean, I created it. Erandelle was the castle I remodeled myself back in Kingdom Crawlers after being the first person to clear the quest to obtain the whole isle. When I hit level 167, I decided to make my castle a dungeon again, so I enlisted various monsters and basically built myself an army. I watched as many players attempted a raid and fail, time and time again. It was my greatest masterpiece. I didn't think I'd see it here though. But I'm glad.

Wait... If Erandelle is here, then does that mean the others are here as well. It's starting to look like this won't be as much work as I had originally thought. Not if they're here. I need to get more information.

"What?!" The shopkeeper exclaims as he looks over the items I've brought to sell to him. I stepped into the first shop I saw that sold herbs but it seems this guy has a really good eye, judging from all the other items and herbs on display. "I'm sorry, might I ask where you obtained this?"

"Mn. I got the Otalis Perm from the Northwest side of the forest around Ingal," I say, abstractly gesturing to the direction I just came from. "And I got the Grieta flower around the center of the forest."

"I see," The shopkeeper sighs. "You must be an adventurer then."

"Hm?"

"Are you not?" He asks, looking at me like I've said something weird. "Most merchants like myself just pick the low grade herbs around the entrance of the forest because of the dangerous monsters always prowling around deeper."

Oh right. For a second I forgot I wasn't in the game anymore. I'm actually in Elrev, and these people aren't just NPC's anymore. They're living, breathing people with real blood flowing through their veins. I was careless.

"Oh, I obtained them from someone," I add, scanning the shelves of his shop.

"Ah, makes sense. You're much to young to be an adventurer."

"May I ask you something?"

"Huh? Go ahead,"

"Can you tell me about that floating isle in the sky?"

"Eh? You're not from around here are you?"

"Yeah,"

"You must have moved from pretty far away then, cause almost everyone around this area knows about that castle,"

"Something like that,"

"That castle just suddenly appeared out of nowhere 10 years ago,"

"Ten years ago?!"

How is that possible? I hadn't even created Erandelle 10 years ago. Unless... there is a major time difference? It's possible. This is interdimensional travel. Which would mean, Net has had his eye on me far longer than I originally thought. All that and he ended up killing me and still got what he wanted. Tch.

"Yeah. All of a sudden one evening, it was just floating there. Adventures from far and wide tried but, no one could enter, none could even get close. The thing has a pretty sturdy barrier. And if the outer barrier doesn't stop you, then the flying monsters will."

"Flying monsters?"

"Yeah, these winged creatures. I've never seen any monster like them. They appear like angels but they're pretty dark and viscous with black wings. Anyone unfortunate enough to pass the barrier unharmed gets torn to shreds by them. Even the royal knights and the high mages of the towers have a hard time getting past them. The barrier is already hard enough. Now these days, only platinum adventurers and above are allowed to attempt the dungeon. And only a few high ranking royal knights, and mages even gain access. The knights labeled it an SS dungeon and put up their own barrier around the ground area so no foolish adventurers can even bother attempting it. No one can get near it without them knowing. Many have died already."

"I see,"

"The only institution currently closest to reaching and understanding the dungeon with legal permission from the government is the Dorma Institute of Magic."

"Institute of Magic... Is that a school?"

"Hm? Yes, it is. I think they're entrance exams are in a few days actually."

You're kidding. A magic school in Dorma? That wasn't in the game. I guess I just caught on to another difference. But at least I know 'they' are actually here. This just got interesting. Now what am I to do? I was just going to fly up there and claim my castle back until he mentioned the barrier put up by the knights too. What to do. It would probably be really easy busting through their barrier and going up there anyway, seeing as none of them could even get past my seraphim forces, but, it would be unwise to garner all that attention before getting any information or understanding anything yet. It seems I'm in my first predicament. Well, what do adults always say? What better place to learn than in school, right?

"Hey, this entrance exam, can you tell me more about it?"
