I suppose it isn't all that bad. At least if you look long enough, you can tell I'm a boy.
R: "What did you do?!"
W: "Back away and spread out! It's dangerous!"
Again with the 'It'. I had completely forgotten about them, and the screams going on in the background as I got lost in thought. Should I apologize about the arm? No, that'll be weird. I'll just leave quietly.
SM: "H-hey! W-where do you thing you're going?! C-come b-back here! You're my familiar aren't you?"
Does this girl seriously think she summoned me? I mean, even supposing I was a summoned demon, just by looking at her gear I know she's definitely not at a level high enough to even summon the lowest ranks of demons, not to talk of one that could assume a humanoid form. Demons are creatures that reside in the dark recesses of hell. They only ever cross over to the surface when a big and strong enough portal or summoning circle opens. And to summon the demons that fall under the category of demi-human, you'd at least have to be a tier 9 summoning mage, or have about five tier 6 dark mages to create a suitable enough portal or circle at best.
These people, they're most likely party members who've been working together for at least a year. A priest, warrior, ranger, light mage, summoning mage, and the thief whose arm I lopped off. Easy to tell with their gear, and armor. A pretty steadfast team, but their magic sense is seriously lacking, not to mention each of their personalities are shit. Even if I look like this, they should be able to tell that my level is much higher than theirs. And I mean much more.
Hm? What's this?
A bluish grey window appeared in front of me. Is this the tato system Net was talking about? It looks just like a game's status window. Honestly, this all makes me feel like I've been put in a game. It shows information about almost everything within my area of view. Huh, this really is Forger's tower- In KC, forger's towers was said to be built to reach the god of this world by a group of legendary armor and weaponsmiths. But now, it was used by mages for summoning since the runes and magic circles left by those legendary smiths is at supreme level, and made spell casting and enchanting easier. According to the window that just popped up before me, my current location is the Ingal West tower.
If I'm in Ingal, then that means I'm in Halrio, on the Dremid continent. When I was playing KC, the server with the most strong players was on the Teskor continent and was home to most Asian players. It was where I was active most of the time. I don't think I was ever active in Dremid, though I heard Halrio was one of the biggest countries in the entire game. I think there are about 35 countries in the entirety of Elrev, and Dremid holds 3 out of them.
Ah! I forgot about them again. It looks like the warrior, and the ranger are trying to position themselves to approach me with a pincer attack while the priest and light mage look after the thief who's still bleeding out.
Let's see, the ranger is at level 23, and the warrior is at level 26. The priest is at level 25, the light mage at level 22, and the thief at level 24. Then the summoning mage is at level 23.
I don't believe this. My goodness... why? They... why are they so weak?! Are you kidding me? Even if their magic sense is shit, they should be able to sense this big a difference between levels. Yet, they're attempting to attack me? Even if I added all their levels together, it still wouldn't reach mine. I guess I remember when I was in their shoes. But I started playing KC about ten years ago, so it's been ages since I considered myself as this much of a weakling. It's no wonder I ripped his arm of with just a tap. I'll just leave. That's for the best.
LM: "It's seriously walking away? Do you think we'll just let you go like that?"
SM: "Halt! I-I said stop!"
Like I'd actually stop to listen to an ant. This is just ridiculous.
P: "What's going on? Why isn't it listening to you? I thought familiars were supposed to listen to their master's orders no matter what?"
Probably because I'm not your familiar. I most likely just hijacked your magic summoning circle to get here.
SM: "I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. I suppose I'll have to damage you a bit."
The crest on her wrist and the summoner's collar I'd forgotten was around my neck began to shine.
SM: "You're master commands you... Bend to my will!"
Ah, she's using a summoner's spell called 'Calcan'. It forces misbehaving familiars to obey their summoner by inflicting pain on the familiar's body through a collar made from the summoner's mana. What a cruel spell. But like I said before, it won't work since you didn't summon me. And even if she did, my level is too high for her 'Calcan' spell to work.
I ignore her once more and continue walking away after snapping the collar off my neck.
(The group gasps)
SM: "N-no way! Impossible! That's impossible! How can a familiar destroy a collar?!"
You just haven't met a high enough leveled one. If I really was a familiar, I would have killed you and everyone in your party.
I wonder if using spells here is the same as using them in the game. I guess I should try.
Just as I was thinking that, every spell I've ever had within my arsenal flashed through my brain. It was like all the spells I usually had to look up to use or activate was now at the back of my mind, and I'm able to use them like second nature. Is this a result of the tato system too?
Then, let's try 'Flight'.
It worked! I'm now hovering over the ground. It feels just like in the game, but way more realistic. Then...
"Heal," I speak, as I cast a spell to stop the blood from flowing out of the thief's arm. I would regenerate his arm, but he deserved that for being such a dick. The priest looks like she'll pass out any second. Probably why they're gawking at me in shock, as to why someone supposedly of the demon race was able to cast a healing spell on a human, faster and better than the priest did.
True my character is a demon. In KC, most players used non-human characters because of how difficult it was to raise the level of human characters- but if they succeeded, they're character would be amongst the strongest in the game. Which is why I hold so much respect for the second best player, and my rival, Jene Dhark. He was an English player, and his real name is Jean Collins. He was popular as an online gamer though he never reveled in his popularity and fame. Thanks to my fluency in English as well as several other languages I was able to compete against some of the strongest players world wide, but he was by far the most fearsome and interesting I'd ever faced. Second to humans, demon avatars were also hard to level up as well, but I still can't be compared to Jene.
I float up higher into the sky and leave the premises of the tower while looking over my status window.
The champion of a god? That's new.
