Huh. After killing two level 16 Reaper Hounds, I was only able to get 20 XP? I mean considering my level I wasn't really expecting much but, at this rate I won't increase my level for another century. I came into the deepest parts of the forest thinking there would be stronger monsters here, but this isn't even worth being called level grinding. So then if it's like this, what do I have to slay to get at least 500 experience points here?
"Is something wrong, my lord?" Damocles asks, watching me intently as I stare at my status screen.
"Hm? Oh, nothing." I respond, letting out a small sigh.
This is going to be a bit more exhausting than I thought. I pull up
I notice an elaborate spacing a few miles away on the map. From what I can sense, it seems to be an orc fort. A fortress filled with orcs between levels 12-37, and it seems there are quite the number of them. About 200 or so maybe. Hm? This presence. It seems I've also picked up the presence of an Orc ruler. If he's a leader, he should be above level 40 at least. Alone that isn't much, but if I add it to the chicken scrap XP I'll be gaining from the other 200 orcs, I think I can make do.
"Damocles, let's move." I say, opening a portal to the area on the map, and he nods and follows obediently behind me.
"Master, do you intend to exterminate all the orcs in the area?" Damocles asks, looking at me with indifference.
"Yes. Unfortunate for them but I need to test something." I respond.
This should be easy. Using a wide area spell, I can clear them out without even having to move an inch from this spot, but it'll be messy if there are any adventurers nearby. Though, I doubt there are any who would willingly come to a heavily populated orc fort. But, sometimes quests have adventurers stake out monster hideouts and villages for any irregular activity. If my spell harms any unsuspecting adventurers, they'd die for sure...
Well it's fine. I don't really feel the need to care that much right now.
"Massive explosion!" I chant, causing a gigantic fireball to erupt within the fortress, even causing a small earthquake to vibrate around the mountain the fort is built on.

One by one, I can feel a great number of the orcs' life lines cut off, as the fortress crumbles. After the spells effect, there are still a few orcs that survive, and they rush out in rage, some covered in flames. The ones that survive gather around us, wielding scanty weapons in hand.
Damocles summons his sword in hand, clicking open its sheath in an attempt to slice the orcs apart but as I stop him saying, "No. I'll take care of it."
With a stern face, he releases his grip on his sword and resumes an upright position. I turn to the mass of fuming orcs that rush towards us and cast
For the rest that were behind the fore line, I take care of them with
The strong presence I sensed before begins to draw closer, as a mount of rubble around what used to be the entrance of the fortress is knocked out of the way, revealing a huge pig-like monster, adorned with various skulls from different species, and wielding a heavy axe.
This must be the orc ruler huh?

Hm... He's pretty weak but his endurance is actually impressive. So even if an adventurer manages to reduce his HP to critical, with that level of endurance, his stats would be buffed making him extremely harder to kill. It'll feel like you're going somewhere, but then end up on the losing end. The most I can gain from him is a 150 XP at best, and he'd make a good asset for the incoming trouble Aeolia will be in, but I need as much experience points as I can get my hands on right now. What to do.
Mm... It would've been fun to watch those adventurers struggle with this Orc Ruler but I guess my troops are already more than enough. It should be interesting enough as is.
"Damocles..." I mutter, after making up my mind.
"Master?" He responds.
"Damocles, the name of the sword. Your master calls your name," I chant.
God I don't know why I made that phrase the activating spell for this. It's so embarrassing. I thought it was cooler in-game but in real life I just feel like cringing. This is why I haven't used him in a while. I'll have to find a way to change it later.
At my call, the symbol on Damocles' forehead hidden behind his swept bangs begins to shine, and he transforms into a sword in my hand. One end blunt, with a sharp edge. The traditional Katana. The energy I feel off him is truly on par with a legendary weapon.
I breath out as I grip his hilt, and mark my target, the orc ruler. Now that I've tested out my use of spells and magic, time to test my body's strength and agility.
In a single leap, I manage to slice the orc ruler in two vertically. After I land, I hear the slices of his body collapse to the ground with a thud sound, then I swiftly swing the blade to the right, so the blood stained on it would fly off. I sigh again, and release my grip, allowing Damocles to change back into his human form.

Tch! Even less than I thought. What a weakling. If I was still under level 70, that would've been about 300 XP.
"Master..." Damocles starts, closing his eyes with his index and middle fingers up to his temples.
He must be using
"...I have received word that Mercury has returned."
"I see. Then let's return." I reply.
This was a waste of time but I more or less learnt a few things. If I'm going to level up any time soon, I'll have to go after the bigger fishes. I guess it's a good thing that I've opened Aeolia as a proper dungeon now. I hope some really strong individuals stumble in. Would make my job of searching for opponents easier.
