The robot obviously doesn't sleep. While it is sentient so technically, 'alive', it doesn't have biological needs. He just stayed in the room silently wishing for the day when he gets enough metal to fix his body.
Time passes by slowly when the door to the small room is opened. On the other side is Belthor.
"Did you sleep at all?"
"No, robots don't need to sleep. You seem to know a lot about me, but why don't you know about this?" He ask curiously.
"Of course I knew it, I just forgot..." Belthor says with an awkward smile. "Forget it. I'll move a chair and table in here for you so you don't have to work in the floor, and then I'll finally get to see you work your magic."
He quickly moves the furniture over and helps the robot into the chair. Then he brings over a single iron ingot and an arrowhead he had previously made, and asks it to try and make a copy. The robot moves it's right hand near the ingot and activates Metal Manipulation. His mana starts to move from his hand and absorb into the metal. Eventually there's enough mana to fill it and he's able to change it's shape according to his thoughts. Not wanting to make an over sized arrowhead he splits off a single smaller piece, estimating the amount needed using the example.
When he starts to focus on the smaller piece, the mana kept in the ingot dissipates into the surroundings. This means that he can only actively shape metal that he is focused on. Trying to shape the metal into an arrowhead only took a minute of practice before he got the hang of it. Belthor at the side was ecstatic when he saw how quickly the robot could make the arrowheads. He would have to spend a lot of time heating the metal and then casting it, so having him use magic to make them will definitely increase production.
Later that day I'm alone in my room working and training my Metal Manipulation skill when the door opens. Belthor walks in with a young man trailing behind. The stranger stared at me in awe, as if he didn't believe what he was seeing.
The robot was startled by Belthor. Why was he leading this person to me? Wasn't I supposed to be kept secret from the other humans?
Belthor, with a smirk, starts to introduce him to me. "This is Clide, my apprentice. He'll be making the trade with the elves today. Seeing as how he's my apprentice and all he won't hurt you and I thought it would cause too many problems if I didn't show you to him."
Behind him, Clide had just recovered from shock and exclaimed in excitement, "This is amazing! We're gonna be rich! " Belthor quickly shot him a glance. His face turned sour as he walked to me and swiped all the arrowheads into a cheap looking sack, slung it over his shoulder and left quickly.
"Don't mind him." Belthor says, "It's not easy making money in a small village like this, but with you here I don't think we'll have to worry about that for too much longer." With that he closed the door and the robot was left alone in the room again.
