Why did Elder Jardon compliment him so much? Kadden's anxiety had already reached its peak, but the elder continued to make it even worse, praising his capabilities.
"Feeling nervous?" Eleanor asked, leaning in to observe his sweaty appearance.
"I am a bit," Kadden admitted. "My strength hasn't fully recovered yet." He lied to hide the fact that he was actually weak.
"Why would you need physical strength?" Eleanor looked at him, confused. "Don't tell me you thought this was a martial arts competition." She said mockingly, enjoying Kadden's reaction.
Kadden's pupils widened, hinting that he indeed had thought so. "Isn't it?" he responded, his voice filled with surprise.
"Oh, did you really think he would fight using our bodies wearing this?" She looked at him, shocked, gesturing toward her long robe. Kadden had to agree that it was ill-suited for physical activity.
