Wain had a really bad day. Although he couldn't recall anything that happened, he felt like he had a bad day. Actually he didn't remember anything except of some strange random stuff and his name Wain Sageroar.
He just stood there, silently, alone in the desolate plains under a dark sky and his mind was completely blank. He didn't feel any need to do anything, nor did he understand what he should do, so he just waited for something to happen.
Suddenly, the silence was disturbed by a voice, and a translucent purple window materialized before him.
"System: Welcome World Destroyer."
"World Destroyer?" Wain questioned, confused by the message that he received. He glanced around at the earth underneath his feet and his bare hands, pondering about how to achieve the task given to him.
Wain was completely devoid of motivation to the task, however, if the window wanted him to destroy the world, perhaps he could try it. He had nothing else to do anyways.
But how was he supposed to do it? Clenching his fist, he suddenly noticed power flowing through his body.
"Let's try it out."
He extended his arms and began relentlessly pounding the ground with his bare fists. He continued for a long time, knuckles becoming stained with blood from the relentless impacts against the unyielding stone. Yet, Wain felt no pain, he continued and struck the ground again, when another window appeared next to him.
"System: Progress of destroying the World of Drifting Realm: 0.00%"
"This probably isn't the way," Wain contemplated, his gaze fixed on the message before him, he wondered how to achieve the task given to him. After striking the ground for so long, his fists were drained of strength and controlling his body started being difficult.
Wain began to doubt his own capabilities to complete this task, when another message appeared.
"System: The God of Chaos, Ollios, has summoned you to bring destruction upon this world. Each time you destroy something, you will earn Chaos Points, exchangeable for rewards."
"God of Chaos?" Wain thought, his mind racing as he processed the information.
"So I am a pawn in a game of gods?" He quickly came to a conclusion, but he didn't feel anything at the realization. At least he knew what was expected from him. Since he was created for this reason, he would cause destruction!
However, to continue, he needed more information. He didn't know anything about himself nor the world he was in. Although he had a lot of information in his head, they weren't practically useful in his current situation.
His gaze locked on his arm, trying to inspect it more closely, when another window appeared. But compared to the previous one, this one was light blue.
[Wain Sageroar] (Human, lower 1st-grade)
Level 4
Hp 8/35
Mp 21/21
Experience 15/48
…
"So this is me." He realized when he saw his name on the window. He scrolled all the way to the bottom, exploring the content of the window, finding out he was seventeen years old and his occupation was most likely magician, since he possessed two 1st-grade spells, [Fireball] and [Flame Burst]. There was also a skill [Ollios' Blessing], however, the window didn't tell him its strength nor the use.
Wain didn't possess too much knowledge regarding the power standards of this world, but he understood that grades were the fundamental measure of strength.
Levels on the other hand, represented proficiency within a particular grade. Given that he was currently level 4, he would have to first reach at least level 10 in order to break into the middle realm of 1st-grade.
With this newfound information, Wain's primary goal was now determined. He needed strength if he wanted to destroy the world, so he should raise his level first.
Observing his barren surroundings once more, confirming there was nothing in the vicinity to raise his level. To increase his level, he needed to either absorb the life essence from organisms by ending their lives, or acquire mana from crystals. The former was a faster option, while the latter was more difficult but safer.
However, Wain currently couldn't perform any of the two variants for leveling up. With this in mind, he set out to explore his surroundings, determined to find things to destroy and gather the strength he needed to fulfill his purpose.
…
After an unknown amount of time, Wain had finally reached a forest. According to the system, this forest was called "Redwood Grove'' and since his task was to destroy, he casted a [Fireball] on a nearest tree.
The result was disappointing. Not only did the tree survive his spell just fine, but a system notification also appeared before him, with similar digits he already once saw.
"System: Progress of destroying the Redwood Grove 0.00%"
Recognizing this wasn't an opponent he could beat, Wain continued his exploration in the forest. It didn't take long, and he encountered a peculiar sight.
Within the Redwood Grove, a small, unsightly green creature scuttled about, rummaging through the fallen branches on the forest floor.
[Forest Goblin] (Humanoid, No-grade)
Level 3
Hp 28/28
"Goblin?" Wain quietly mumbled to himself as he observed the green humanoid creature. He took a moment to carefully study the creature's behavior, attempting to gain insights into its nature and intentions.
He was on alert, because this was his first encounter with an intelligent life form. Moreover the Forest Goblin was smaller than a tree, so he had a good chance of finally destroying something.
Observing the goblin's actions, Wain summarized its behavior as "rummaging through the branches, looking around, walking further, and repeating." The creature appeared entirely harmless and unguarded.
With these thoughts,Wain approached the goblin, closing the distance until he was confident to hit it with [Fireball] and began his assault.
1st-grade spell, Fireball!
Wain stretched his hand forward, materializing a fist sized ball of flames before his palm. The process took about a second, and then, with a swift motion, he shot the ball of flames forward, straight at the goblin.

The goblin got knocked to the ground by the strike, writhing in pain due to the ugly wound on his back.
Wain, having launched the first [Fireball] and anticipating a counterattack, began to withdraw. However, to his surprise, the goblin took a whole three seconds to recover from the blast and attempt to locate the attacker, which gave Wain enough time to cast another [Fireball], mercilessly targeting the goblin.

Another ball of flames hit the goblin, which finally helped the goblin to locate Wain. But before it could retaliate, Wain already stood next to it and took its life with [Flame Burst].
"System: You have killed a Forest Goblin obtaining 2 experience and 1 Chaos Point."
Wain remained near the goblin's lifeless body, observing it closely to ensure it was really dead, but even after a while the goblin still showed no signs of life. It wasn't playing dead, it was just that weak.
