It was nice to have Sabastian's compassion. He only loved one person: his brother. Everyone else was the enemy until proven innocent. It filled me with joy, he was showing me some kind of affection. I was under his protection. Something I would need. Once Sabastian cared for someone it was different than any other love. It was somewhat weird.
Regardless, if one wasn't in his good graces, then they were doomed. He took more pleasure in killing than any man should. I didn't have to see him in action to know. His emotions entertained themselves with mine. And, no one should ever carry these horrible emotions around. No one. Not even the devil.
Sabastian's gaze flickered to the basket. "Are we going to eat or what?"
I rolled my eyes. "You're not going to stop, are you?"
"I'm hungry," he answered. "You're the one who took me from the safety of my home to this place. If I had known you were planning to starve me to death, I wouldn't have come."
