The next couple was Jake and Ashley. Jake was sitting in a chair with Ashley on his lap. They were both peering out a window.
"I know how much this means to you," Jake broke the silence. "I want to make you happy. But, all I'm asking is that we wait until after this thing with Scarlet."
Ashley's eyes stayed outside the window. "What if there is no us after the war? What if we don't make it?"
Jake pulled her closer to his chest. "I won't let that happen. You should not even be thinking about that either."
Ashley sighed. "I know you'll try and not let that happen and it could be the reason why it happens. I just want us—"
