Troy was hugging me. Why was he hugging me?
Growing up, I never received a lot of hugs. Mother considered certain types of compassion as weakness. Therefore, refrained from anything that led in that direction.
Father often gave me kisses on the forehead, but never hugs. Brian was a child, who was loved by his family. Thus, he never went around asking for hugs. If he or I wanted comfort, we did the same thing: we had sex. Brian's sister was a hugger but we worked around it. We did silly cheery things instead.
Besides, I never pictured myself having children, so hugs were not something allotted in my comforting box.
