"I see you've found the letters." Scarlet smiled, closing the bedroom door behind her.
Too engrossed in the contents of the letters, I hadn't heard when she opened the door.
Scarlet pointed at the door as she ventured further into the room. "In case you were wondering, I knocked."
I nodded and placed the stock of letters back on the seat. "Yeah, I should get dressed." Then, I retreated to the closet, wishing I had closed the door because she came in after me.
"I can't believe you still have these letters," I stated, conscious of her presence behind me.
'And, you think it was a coincidence they were on the window seat?' Wolfie questioned.
There wasn't a doubt it was. She could have set them down on the window seat because she knew I would see them. If it was not now then it would have been later.
"Yeah, I do. You know me: always having a hard time letting go of things." Though there was laughter in her voice, it hugged a hint of sadness.
