"Brianna?" Kyle snarled, grabbing my arm and pulling me into a room to the right of the stairwell.
The library. The ceiling-high-stocked shelves of books were evidence of the certainty.
Within a blink of an eye, I was sitting on one of the tables in the room.
Kyle stood between my legs with a scowl.
"Don't you ever fucking walk out on me," he barked before his lips were on mine.
I pushed him off and a figure caught in my peripheral vision. The same being from out in the lobby was also in here. This one was dusting the shelves. Oh, there were more.
They were now watching us.
"Kyle, they're watching us," I declared, but it came out more like a whine.
A deep growl echoed through the room. His next word rattled the shelves, and maybe my heart. "Out!"
The beings dropped all they were doing and scrambled out of the room.
"Happy now?"
