"Hey?"
The soft greeting crept into my thoughts and disrupted my slumber. Over and over it tumbled around in my head like an echo in a cave.
"Brianna?" The distant voice whispered.
I sighed at my name. The sweet melody of how it was said struck my every nerve.
"Brianna, are you in there? Don't tell me you're sleeping already. It's just eight o'clock."
I rolled on my side with my eyes still closed. It took my brain a little time to realize he was actually talking to me and I wasn't dreaming. When it did, I laid on my back with a smile.
"The time doesn't matter," I sent back through the mental link. "Night was meant for sleeping."
I didn't add the fact that ever since a month and a half ago, my permanent rest time was eight o'clock. No matter how preoccupied I was once the clock struck eight it was nap time.
"Come on, get up," he whined in return.
I groaned aloud in return. "What do you want?"
