Everything came alive. Then, there it was, the brown spots indicating Josh had touched the area when he passed by.
Without wasting much more time, I followed the marks, flicking my gaze ever so often back to where Heather was. My journey took me past two clothes stores, a toy store, and into an alley.
My heart skipped several beats at the scene in front of me. Josh was circled by three men. Though Josh wasn't small, he was still at a disadvantage.
"Hey?" I shouted, alerting the group.
Josh's eyes widened at my presence. The three men smirked.
"This is private matters, man," the tallest of the three men declared. "Find some other alley."
I strolled closer to them. "I'm afraid I can't do that." My index finger pointed at Josh. "He's my son."
