I dropped my hand from my face ready to utter a rebuttal, but mom spoke up. "Gideon is talking about giving Lucile's little boyfriend the alpha position for the pack in Redwood."
I bobbed my head. " I thought you liked Dane."
Mom shifted in her seat. "Yes, I do. Lucile is twenty-five. She should know how to choose her boyfriends. And, she did choose him. We don't have to make him alpha. What is Gideon even trying to prove? Being an alpha to a large pack of werewolves is a big responsibility, and I think Gideon is making the wrong decision because of his need to show a kid acceptance."
In other words, she didn't approve of this guy.
Poor him. When dad left Redwood with Mom, he appointed a new alpha to his pack. However, time caught up to the alpha and he has gotten old. Now, they were set on finding a new alpha to replace him. Dad was interested in a young werewolf with great leadership qualities.
