I eased back in my seat. "Okay."
Three pairs of eyes flashed in my direction.
"I mean, Josh has been a pain in my ass," I confessed.
Josh's brows knitted together. Heather's small hands gripped her brother's.
"Right." Scarlet nodded.
"And, he has led a ton of bad guys to our home after he made us run from our old one. All we wanted was peace but that wasn't enough," I continued.
Scarlet wiggled her finger, cheering me on. "No, it wasn't. Peace is not for this boy."
"So, I say, screw it. Let's hand him over to the bad guys and go live out our happy lives."
My words brought joy to Scarlet's face. Heather and Josh, not so much.
