I squeezed my eyes shut for a slight second. Amy whimpered.
"That was plan B," Kyle went on casually as if he was having a normal conversation. "There is also a plan A. You two would forget everything and move on from each other."
Brian riled up again and frantically shook his head. "I can't do that. I can't be her stranger. I love her too much."
Darn you, Brian.
"Fucking hell, Brian. This is the part where you should say yes even if you won't do it," Colin groaned.
He would never do that. He always tried to do the right thing.
"Can't you at least try to move on from her?" Jake begged. A curtain of sorrow fell over his face.
"Don't you think I have!" Brian yelled. "I never meant for it to be this way. I tried so hard to let her go but I'm not strong enough." His voice lowered, tainted with defeat. "I love her, Kyle. I can't… we tried… You're going to have to kill me because I'm not letting her go."
