Courtney shook her head. "That's not true. If I mean nothing to you then why are you so upset about Colin and me?"
Josh hissed his teeth and stepped forward. Courtney matched his step, blocking his way.
He raked his fingers through his hair.
"Courtney, would you move out of the fucking way!"
"You have to tell me what's going on first. Why are you behaving like this? I can't… we can't continue like this, Josh."
Josh squeezed his eyes shut for a short second. "Courtney, move."
Courtney's exasperating sigh came next. Her eyes glossed with unshed tears.
"Don't!" Josh squeezed his eyes shut, and turned his back to her before opening them. Two fists were clenched at his sides. "You don't deserve to cry. You don't deserve to be sad."
Despite Josh's angry words, Courtney's tear ducts opened. Tears slid down her cheeks.
"Tell me what can I do to make things okay?
How can I make it all better?"
