Grey eyes flickered from me to Deanna.
She blinked at both of us. "Seriously? This is too good. None of you knew." She rubbed her forehead. "Like this is beyond disappointing. How can you not know that your mate is pregnant? Don't you feel it? Heck, Jones knew I was pregnant before I knew and he never wanted kids then. Well, not with me. I mean this girl is reeking with symptoms of pregnancy."
I couldn't be pregnant. My eyes roamed to my stomach. I should have felt it. Babies grew, they turned and played. Didn't they? My stomach was as flat as ever. It should have been rounded or became bigger. It was not.
Deanna laughed. "Oh, my, this one is for the books. I'll keep this so I'll have a great story to tell. I'll show you." She dipped a finger in the bowl with blood. When she whispered something to the blood-coated finger, three droplets levitated and darted towards me.
