My eyes slowly drifted open to reveal a similar dim-lit room. The two cells and the single table told me we were back in Scarlet's lair. A groan floated from the adjoining cell. Kyle was on the ground. He rubbed at his temples before gradually sitting up.
I turned on my side, holding the sides of my head. A massive headache threatened to knock me over. Still, I was able to sit without falling over.
"Great!" Scarlet chirped. "You are awake. I was beginning to think you both would sleep forever. It's no fun being the only one up and running."
I cringed at the volume of her voice. She was way too happy.
"What do you want, Deanna?" Kyle whispered.
His voice was hoarse almost as if it was gone. No doubt his headache was as bad as mine.
