"I see you brought company," twin one of the trees rumbled. His deep voice echoed past his companions.
I nodded. "Yeah."
They said this the last time.
The other twin scanned everyone. "Is it just me or does he always come back with more people?"
Nice sense of humor. The last time I came here, it was with Josh and Heather. They loved this place. Well, Heather did. Josh often tagged along because there was nothing else for him to do.
"No, it's not you," the other twin answered. "He has a habit of doing that. He attracts people. Like his parents."
Mom attracted the opposite sex. Dad was the one who attracted everyone. Redwood loved him and the stories about him were half true. Still, I was nothing like them.
I rested my free hand on my hip. "Are you going to let us through or not?"
