Chapter 44 - The Attack!

Year 9989, Day 42 of the Month of the Rain.

Even in the dark, a few minutes before dawn finally began, from the shores of the Great Dark Forest a huge group of people were there.

"The time has come." - Said a man. - "Remember, we have only come for one objective and only one, to obtain people and goods."

"..." - all the others nodded their heads assuring that they understood.

"Well, we can't be wrong, today we haven't come to make a single mistake, so don't fuck up, and now, let's go."

Somewhere in Vermont County, there was a building with a sign above the door that just said: [III].

In an office, there were three people, one of them was sitting and looking out a window, the other two were standing.

One of the two men standing was a tall guy, measuring 193 centimeters tall, while the other had a tattoo on his right cheek.

The tattoo was red in color and was a Red Skull with a III down below the skull.

"Finally, today will begin." - Said the tall guy. - "Fifteen different towns far from the Mara City have been selected, soon all of them will witness chaos and misery."

"Yes, five of those towns have City Elites, but still no town poses a threat for our people." - Said the guy with the tattoo on his cheek.

"That's right, we just have to be careful of the Count and his troops." - Said the tall guy.

"..." - the sitting man only looked out the window.

"Sir?" - The tall man felt somewhat nervous about the man's silence.

"Leader?" - even though he and the tall man were older than the sitting man, they were both weaker than their leader.

"And our other business?" Asked the man.

"It's going great, we already have two branches, one near Mara City, and one in the west of the county." - Said the tall man. - "Although I'm afraid that the one near the City of Mara is closely watched by the Count's Family."

"Hm." - Suddenly lightning ran through the left hand of the man who was sitting.

"Ah!" - and the lightning struck the tall man.

"I hope I don't have to worry about eliminating the Count and his family, I don't want to ask any of the other branches for help."

"We know, so don't worry, the Count and his family will not realize our true goals and objectives." - Said the man with the tattoo on his cheek.

"Yes… sir… we will know committed any error…" – said the tall man who was wounded by the attack of his leader.

"I hope so." - The leader said as he kept looking out the window.

"Good Morning."

"Good morning Luciel." - Don Armando greeted Luciel who had just got up.

At the entrance of the town.

"Evans, Vice-Captain, hi."

"Kyle, good morning." - Vice Captain Glover greeted his subordinate.

"You finally arrive." - Evans said.

"But I did arrive on time."

"Me and the Vice-Captain have been here for a while now."

"Ah, that's unfair, you live closer to the entrance."

"That is no excuse."

As the two continued arguing, a bark was heard.

"What is that?" - Kyle asked surprised.

"!" - Glover who had better eyesight than Kyle and Evans could see.

"Close the doors!" - Glover shouted who unsheathed his sword.

"Vice-Captain?" - Evans was surprised.

At that moment, various barks were heard in the distance.

"Kyle!"

"Vice-Captain?"

"Go to the Adventurer's Guild, issue a mission for everyone who is there to come to support here."

"Glover?" Evans asked. - "What's going on?"

"Wild dogs, many, the guards of the town are not enough, ring the bells!" Glover ordered.

"Immediately Sir!" - shouted a guard who went to the second building of the guards, running quickly up to the top to ring the bells.

"Kyle! To the guild! "

"What if they don't want to come help?"

"Tell them they will be given a Silver Coin for each Wild Dog hunted; I'll pay for it myself."

"It is understood." - Kyle said that while he left for the Adventurer's Guild, while the doors were closed, and Glover, Evans and 13 other guards were preparing to fight.

"Shouldn't we go in?"

"They would be able to break down the doors and enter the town." - Glover said. – "If they do that, the people of the town would suffer heavily."

"Really?"

"Yes, you look at that huge dog in front of the pack."

"Oh, I see it."

"It's an Alpha, a Wild Dog Alpha is on par with a City Elite."

"What?" - Evans was surprised to hear that.

"And looking at the pack, I would say there are more than a hundred wild dogs."

In the Adventurer's Guild Building, as every day, from very early on, the adventurers arrived at the place to start their days early performing missions, and the same happened for the Unity Team that a few minutes ago had just arrived, going to a Of the tables in the building's dining area, the food wasn't that good, but it was cheap and edible.

"What are we doing today?" - Reus asked excitedly.

"I don't know, a couple of F-rank build or cleanup missions." - Alec said.

"..."

"I think the same as Tom, we should try to do another kind of mission, I'm already tired of helping to build buildings." - Mia said.

"Well, I don't know if we can do a Rank E mission already." - Alec said, when suddenly, some bells were heard.

In the Restaurant of the Crimson Swordsman, Luciel and Don Armando heard the bells ringing.

"!" - Don Armando was concerned when he heard them.

"What happen?" Luciel asked.

"They attack the town!" - Don Armando said who quickly entered his office.

"What?"

Don Armando finally came out and unsheathed his crimson sword that he kept in his office every night.

"Listen to me Luciel." - Don Armando approached Luciel worried. - "I don't know who attacks us or what it is, but you'd better stay here and don't open the door to anyone, you'll only open it when you hear my voice." - Don Armando said.

"Why?"

"For safety, I will go quickly to see my family and that they are well protected, so I will not be able to be here for a while, stay here and do not open the door to anyone, to anyone!" - Don Armando said who left while Luciel quickly closed the door.

"What the hell is going on?" - wondered the young earthling who leaned against the door as he sat on the floor.

At the Adventurer's Guild, Alec and the other Earthlings were wondering what was going on, when suddenly, Kyle entered.

"Help!" - shouted the young guard.

"There they come!" Glover shouted, as he along with Evans and the other guards faced the huge pack of Wild Dogs attacking the town.

"Don't let them destroy the door and enter the Town!" Glover screamed as he quickly cut off the head of a young Wild Dog, those young wild dogs where fast but weak.

"Ah!" - shouted a guard who was beheaded by the Alpha of the Wild Dogs.

"Tch." - Glover knew that only he was a match for such a creature, so he set out to fight against the terrible monster.

"The moment has come!" - Said a man. - "Attack!"

And, in this way, a hundred men who were hiding in the Great Dark Forest, headed to the back of the town, they carried stairs to cross the five-meter-high wooden walls more easily.
