Chapter 26 - The Former Guards

Year 9987, Day 35 of the Month of the Moon.

Luciel was walking through town alone, returning from seeing and spending some time playing with Fred and Eren at María's Inn.

'I wonder what the people of this world think about it?' Luciel thought.

"Leave me alone!" - Suddenly Luciel heard a female voice, and when he looked, he saw that a girl with fair skin, blond hair and red eyes was being teased by two guys.

"Come on beautiful, join us at our house, we will teach you how to have fun." - Said the smaller of the two, a guy even smaller than the girl. - "I will teach you things that no one has taught you yet."

"Let me go." - Said the young woman whose wrist was grabbed by that guy.

"Come on, calm down, I'm not going to do anything bad to you, on the contrary, you will like it."

"That's right, what we will do will make you feel very good." - Said the other guy who was tall and fat.

"No! Let go of me. " - Said the young woman who was trying to get out of the grip of the subject, and when the other guy was going to grab her too.

"Leave her alone!" - shouted Luciel who approached the three people.

"And who the hell are you?" - Said the tall guy.

"Leave her." - Luciel said again.

"Ha, look Celso, we have a brave man before us." - Said the guy who was holding the girl.

"Hm, you're right Gras, we have a brave ... nosy idiot." - Celso said who looked at Luciel. - "Get out of here boy!"

"You don't see that you bother her, please leave her alone." - Luciel said, not thinking of leaving.

"Tch, really kid, Gras, tell me, does nobody respect us in this town anymore, didn't he hear me?"

"Hm." Gras released the girl and approached Luciel. - "Seriously boy, you're an idiot."

"Ah!" - Luciel received a blow from Gras that sent him flying a few meters through the air and then falling to the ground.

"Hey!" - The girl was concerned when she saw what happened and approached Luciel who was bleeding a lot from the nose.

"Oops sorry, was it too strong? Too bad of me, I didn't think someone who meddled in other people's affairs was a complete wimp."

"Hahaha, you really bad Gras, look, the boy can't even get up, hahaha."

"Oh, and I thought I was going to fight more." - Gras said as he was about to kick Luciel when a voice stopped him.

"Hey!" - It was Joanne, she worked as a receptionist in the adventurer's guild building in town, and she did not come alone, she was accompanied by her childhood friend, Evans.

"But look what we have here, we have the stinky brat of Taylor and the stupid brat under the protection of Glover." - Gras said when he saw the newcomers. - "Get out of here."

"Gras, Celso, I think Vice-Captain Glover and the Captain made it clear that they would not accept any more behavior like this, or was I wrong?"

"Just because you're Glover's favorite lap dog doesn't mean we're scared of you." - Celso said as he approached Evans.

"And I am not afraid of you." - The young man replied.

"Maybe, but you think you can beat the two of us, we may not be anymore, but we used to be guards too." - Gras said as he approached Evans. - "You think you can fight and win against both of us."

"..." - Evans could not say anything, Gras was right, in a one versus one, he could defeat either of them, but a one versus two would be impossible for him to win.

"Okay, now get the hell out of here." - Gras said as he turned to see the girl who was trying to clean Luciel of the blood on her face. - "And now, where were we?"

"No!" - shouted Joanne, who as Gras said, she was Taylor's daughter, being the older of the two daughters that the vice-manager had.

"You didn't listen to what I said, seriously, maybe now the brats don't understand, I said go ahead!" Yelled Gras who wanted to hit Joanne but got kicked instead. - "Ah!" Gras looked at Evans, who had just kicked him. - "Didn't you hear what the fuck I just said."

"I won't let you hurt Joanne now, get out! If you don't want to take another kick. "

"Hm, did you hear Celso, it seems we have another brave man here."

"So, it seems." - Celso said who got behind Evans. - "I think you have to remind him that he must respect his elders."

"Yes."

"Ha, respect my elders? You are garbage, you are crazy people that never deserved to be part of the ranks of the guards."

"Really! Well take this! " Cried Gras as he lunged at Evans.

"Go dead!" - while Celso attacked from behind.

"Evans!" - Joanne shouted when she saw her friend in trouble, but at that moment, both Celso and Gras fell to the ground in pain, both had received a blow from a person.

"Scum like you shouldn't live in this town." - It was Don Armando.

"You!" - Gras saw Don Armando furious.

"If you don't want to end up with more hits, you better leave."

"Tch." - Gras grunted, but he knew that not even he and Celso together could fight Don Armando. - "Let's go Celso."

So, the two of them left the place.

"It's my fault." - The girl was crying, worried when she saw that Luciel still did not react.

"Don't worry, he's just passed out. " - Don Armando said, then he carried Luciel.

"I ..." - the girl was still feeling bad, but Don Armando looked at her and said: "Go home, everything will be fine."

"Yes, I will make sure that finally those two pigs do not leave their cells again." - Evans said furious. - "Thank you very much for your help Don Armando."

"No problem Evans, besides, I was not going to let those who came to help my employee suffer." - He said as he started walking towards the restaurant.

"I ..." - the young woman was still sad, and Joanne approached.

"Come, we'll walk you home, right Evans?"

"Yes, it is better if we escort you home." - Evans said that together with Joanne they took the girl home.

"Ouch ..."

"I see you already woke up." - Don Armando said, seeing Luciel writhing in pain on the bed.

"Where I am?"

"In the basement of the restaurant."

"How…?"

"I don't know the situation very well, but when I got to the place, you were already passed out and your face was beaten."

"Eh?" - It was then that Luciel remembered. - "The girl!"

"What Girl?"

"There were two guys molesting a girl, and I asked them to leave her alone, and then ..." - Luciel touched his face. - "This happened ... And the girl?"

"Ah, the girl who cried."

"It's okay?"

"Yes, don't worry, after you passed out, Evans and Joanne were there and apparently they helped her."

"Evans! And… Joanne? "

"Ah, you may not know her, but she is Taylor's daughter."

"The Vice Manager of the Adventurer's Guild?"

"Yes, she works in the guild as a receptionist."

"Oh ..."

"Yeah, well, don't worry, the girl you helped is fine already, and those two guys will most likely be imprisoned by Glover."

"I see."

"Yes, now, do you want to eat?"

"Yes please, I'm hungry."

"Well let's go up." - Don Armando said who then helped Luciel up.

"Thank you."

"No problem."

And the two went up.
