Chapter 10 - Dark Room

"No." - Luciel said.

The man was incredulous when he heard the young man.

"And what happened? Did you lose it? Was it stolen from you? Give me one good reason why you do not have any. " - the guard then took Luciel's left shoulder. - "Come." - and he moved out of the way so that those who were still waiting to enter could pass, and at that moment another guard began to check those who entered.

"Young man, I hope you understand that it is crazy that you do not have an Identification Card, even more traveling, and much more traveling to such a remote place as this, tell me, what reason do you have to come to the Town of Hope?" Asked the guard seriously.

"I ..." - Luciel did not know what to say, he thought that if he tells the truth, the guard will treat him like a madman.

But, before Luciel could say anything else, two guards appeared, one of them wearing neither a helmet nor a sword, and he was clearly somewhat young, perhaps two or three years older than Luciel. He had reddish hair, brown eyes and fair skin, the other possessed the armor just like that of the middle-aged man, but clearly newer and without traces of battle, only Luciel could see his fair skin and his gray-colored eyes.

"Vice-Captain!" - The youngest shouted when he arrived.

"Hm? Kyle, Evans, what is up? " Asked the Vice-Captain.

"Some drunks are making a mess again at the Fairy Restaurant." - Said the young man with gray eyes.

"Hm, those bastards, surely they are that pair of fools who always make a mess there." - The guard said with a bit of anger, who then remembered Luciel. - "Hm ... Evans."

"Yes?" - The gray-eyed guard replied.

"Take this boy to the Dark Room." - said the Vice-Captain.

"Yes." - Said the guard who took Luciel's arm and began to pull him into the village.

Seeing Evans lead the boy into the Dark Room in the Second Guards Building in the village, the young guard looked at the Vice-Captain.

"This ... is this okay?" - He asked nervously.

"Hm, why?" - the Vice-Captain would ask.

"Well, you know what Evans is like."

"Oh ..." - said the Vice-Captain who remembered the behavior of the last days of Evans. - "I see, it's true, even so, let's hope he doesn't do anything rash, even so, come on, we have to stop that pair of idiots, this time I'll leave them locked up for a couple of days."

"Thank you, we couldn't do anything since they are ..."

"Yes, some old guards, how good that your father finally decided to remove them from the People's Guard, they were corrupt scum." - The Vice-Captain said when he remembered the days when those two did whatever they wanted, of course, without touching the most powerful of the people. - "Let's go."

"Yes." - Kyle said. - "Still, you must know what Evans is like."

"Don't worry, Evans is a guy ..."

"Rough, noisy, idiotic, someone who acts first without thinking."

"Well, he's been like that lately, but deep down he's a good, fair person who cares about the safety of the people."

"Hm, well, you're right, he used to be like that, but since his father's murder at the hands of bandits ..."

"Yes, that has changed him too much, now he acts with a heavy hand with the ruffians and those he considers suspicious ..."

"Yes, I really hope that young man is okay."

"Ha, I already told you, Evans isn't a bad guy."

"But lately he's someone impulsive, if it weren't because those two surpass us in power and experience, or rather, if I hadn't told him it was better to call you or my father, he would have faced those two guys."

"Ah… come on, we have to hurry up and hope Evans doesn't do something impulsive." - Said the Vice-Captain who began to hurry to go to the Restaurant of the Fairies.
