Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 a legend

"The shopkeeper begins to speak. As she starts to speak Capt looks up and down at her, skeptically puts his hands upon the hilt of his new blades ready to draw if anything goes south." The kind shopkeeper begins to tell Capt and Winter the ancient tale about the spell book. "Once, very long ago that spell book you hold now was created by a very powerful priestess. Her name was Akia. No one has seen her since the very night people call, The Red Scar. She's the one who turned Kaitor into the demon wasteland it is today. When she forged the book she planned for it to help intensify her Demonic nature and powers. She used that book to destroy many cities and take many lives. It was made with great magical power and forged with only the greatest dragon scales to keep the book held together. The sorceress once she was done with her bloodshed went back to her castle where she kept the book under a magical protective seal. She would often visit it every day to check on her magical little piece and she would smile knowing that she had all the power in the world she could ever want. Often she would also leave her castle without it though but she did have her magical item with her, a Staff. A very magical staff infused with the power of the book. Although it is random which magical item you will get you can always count on it being one of three different magical items. A magical Sphere, A magical Staff, and A magical Wand. The priestess was a demon so often her magical powers would be intense due to her will power which made the book all that more powerful. Having the staff alone made her all the more powerful than any other town folk. Many noble warriors would march into her castle to rid her of her life but the only thing that would come out of the castle would be their blood curdling scream. The townsfolk wouldn't even see the body for the priestess always makes a taxidermy of her victims, while they're alive. The magical book would keep them alive while she made the incisions. They were still alive the whole time while she pulled out their insides. At least that's what they said." The woman Started. This only being the beginning of the story. Capt looked at her. "But that doesn't explain how it got here." He said. Still very sceptical. "One day many people had enough of the high priestess and decided to pray to an ultimate goddess for protection and to kill her. The only problem was, they didn't pray to Velik. They prayed to what some people say is a god incarnate. The ultimate being. This ultimate being answered and came down upon them from the ultimate trial islands. She accepted the people's offering for destroying the priestess. They offered her food and company so that this ultimate being wouldn't feel lonely any more and so she wouldn't have to starve so many days. This ultimate goddess rose into the sky and used a magical spell. The spell began below the demonic great priestess with circles and inscriptions, the kinds that are in that book. This book as we found out was actually made with the help of this ultimate goddess but she didn't know it was for evil. She was sealed away by the evil priestess because the Demonic priest didn't want the chance that she would be overthrown or destroyed. The ultimate goddess pulled fire from the ground and destroyed the castle that the evil priestess resided in. It crumbled to the ground and burned for days. There is still a big burn in the ground where this took place and the grass that grows there is red, and they say that if you saw the horrific events you'd be scarred for life, that's how it got its name. The evil Priestess wasn't seen through the wreckage and ultimately was written off dead. The book was still fine and in pristine condition thanks to the magical barrier around it. The spell faded and ultimately a little girl picked it up. She was only seven years old but she kept the book a secret. That little girl was never seen again after that night as well. But that night was over seventy years ago." The woman finished as she smiled down at Winter. "You are lucky you have the chance to hold the book but be careful, it still may have demonic nature residing in it." The old lady said with a slight chuckle.Just then they heard a loud bang, Capt grabbed Winter and the spell book and said "we need to go!" The shopkeeper said "right this way" as she lead them to a secret bookshelf and that opened up a doorway. Capt and Winter ran in to escape those after them...
