The next day, Jared got the reports he wanted on Megan and was going through it in his study when he heard a knock.
" Come in", he said without lifting up his head.
The lilac scent he perceived made him know it was Megan.
"Hey! You", he called out with a smile.
" I didn't know you were busy", she said as she stood in front of the big mahogany teakwood while he was sitting down across her.
" It is okay", he said with a smile placing the file down.
" I could come back later", she told him. she didn't want to push her luck with him and appear pushy. She was scared of his rejection more than anything else.
Jared felt a pang in his heart cos he could feel her anxiety."come here", he said opening his hands while beckoning unto her.
She went to him, sat on him and he held her to himself after kissing her cheek.
"So what are you doing?", She asked trying to make small talk.
" The truth?", He asked turning her to face him and she nodded in affirmation while waiting for his reply. " I was going through a report about you", he didn't see the need to hide it because they don't keep things a secret from each other before the incident and he wanted to establish that now and it was also a form of reassuring her that things will go back the way it was previously.
The only thing he didn't say was that information about what she was up to for three years was missing.
He was going to call Lewis later for that.
"Really?", She asked surprised written all over her face. " You could just ask me", she told him.
" And risk not getting the truth. No way", he said as he chuckles and she smiled.
It was the truth, she would have kept most of the awful part away from him and it wasn't what he wanted.
He wanted to learn of everything that happens to her.
" I am so sorry, angel", he said to her .
" Going through this makes me realize the kind of life you went through for eight years and it breaks my heart ", he said huskily. " I promise I will make things right", he said as he held her cheeks between his palms while tears cascade down her eyes as she nodded.
" It is okay....baby, I know... I hurt...you bad....and....it....breaks my....heart...so....much....to....see....that I judge you.....wrongly ", he said his voice breaking at every word he spoke.
He just couldn't stop blaming himself for being so wrong about her and reading about everything she had been through was so heartbreaking.
If she had hated him afterwards, he would have understand but to still keep on loving him despite the hurts and all , he didn't know what he ever did to deserve her love so selfless and pure.
" That very day", she started with broken tone.
" Shhhh..." He said putting finger on her mouth " you don't have to say it, please", he said knowing how difficult this explaining must be for her.
" I need to tell you", she said. " That very day, I got a text message saying you had a surprise for me and needed me to come to the TENNERS , I didn't doubt it and i went into the room there and suddenly blank out ", she paused as she rubbed her hands " I woke up to heavy banging on the door and I saw myself with Andre on that bed", she explained with tears dripping down her eyes. " You came in and you know the rest but it was awful. I kept having nightmares of what happened afterwards", she said as she cleaned her tears and stood up.
" I don't know who wanted us so apart badly that they set me up, I really don't know", she said her back facing him but the hurts in her voice was clear.
He stood up and went close to her held her and said " I will get to the bottom of this, I promise you".
She leaned on him and nodded.
" I am happy the past is behind us now", she told him as she turned and hugged him .
He stared at her and slowly kissed her lips gently for a while and when they parted he could see that she was blushing and shy to look up at him which made him smile.
" Why are you still shy", he asked her smiling as he held her.
" Cos I have never been kissed for the past eight years", she said still staring everywhere but not at him, showing she was shy.
" Really?", He asked surprised and she nodded and slowly stole a peek at him before averting her eyes. " You didn't even go on a date?", He asked her perplexed to hear that.
" No , I didn't. I wasn't interested in anything with anyone ", she told him then went to sit at the recliner while he sat besides her.
" Besides, who would want to date someone like me whose past everyone thinks was shady", she whispered.
" Baby, I am so sorry for everything. I promise to set things straight ", he apologies and also made a promise to her.
He was going to ensure he cleared her name of all the wrong and set the record straight.
He just needs to do finds and uncovers who was responsible for everything that has happened so far .
" It is okay, I know you will my love. Thank you very much ", she said with a smile as she held his hands.
" I love you so much Meg ", he assured her.
" I love you too TJ", she replied as she kiss his lips and made to move back when he suddenly grab her gently and kiss her again intensifying it.
As they kisses his hands roam all over her body while she moans into his mouth. Heavy breathing filled the room.
" We have to stop", he said as he pulled away from her reluctantly.
" Why? Don't you want me?", She asked breathlessly as she watched him got up adjusting his clothes .
" I do want you but not like this", he told her still keeping a space between them even though it wasn't what he really wanted.
" I don't understand", she asked confusion written all over her face.
" I want to make everything special, I want it to be memorable for you ."What happened that night two days ago was not how it is supposed to be", he told her.
" It is fine, I am not complaining ", she said with a smile catching up on what he meant.
" I know that is why I need to make it memorable for you, baby you deserve the best", he told her staring at her from his standing position.
" I am taking you on a week trip, we have never had our honeymoon, we should do it now", he told her.
" Yes I will love that ", she replied with a smile and happiness written all over her . She stood up with a rush and went to hug him.
" Gosh! Please stay back ,angel . I am trying to get myself back ", he said beckoning unto his hard on and she laughed out loud when she saw it.
" I just hope you will continue to laugh when we are on our honeymoon ", he said seductive while she blush catching his drift.
