Alex's POV
It's been so long talking to Kara without keeping in mind that what I talk may hurt her feelings. She just lost her love when I'm here celebrating mine. If only she opens up about it and let me help. J'onn says grieving has no deadline but I don't have that patience. I want my sister back. I want Kara back.
Everytime I try to convince her to talk to me she bursts out. So I just give her space by also asking her how she is doing everytime I see her.
I love Maggie and I'm gonna be her bride. It's just so cool that I ended up with a girl like her. She helps me get through this and has been cool with postponing the wedding. She understands me more than myself and just keeps me distracted when I get low thinking about Kara. I don't know how but I'm just hanging in there waiting for my sister to be my sister again.
( At Waterfront)
It's the day of unveiling and we were there doing our job. I looked around and saw Lena. She had been a big help in this time and she would also give me company when I used to check in on Kara or she would make sure Kara was doing fine whenever she felt like. It was a great help for me.
How much ever she tried to keep me away, she couldn't try keeping Lena away. As Lena didn't know she was Supergirl, Kara felt guilty and never stopped herself from seeing Lena.
Lena's POV
Finally, the day was here and I was unveiling the statue. The whole city came together for it after the tremendous help she had lent in building the city again.
Before getting on the dais, I searched the skies to see if I could find Supergirl and there was no sign of her. Then I realized that Kara wasn't present at the event. Supergirl is more of a friend to her than me and I don't know why she didn't make it. How long is she going to get herself away from everything?
I was pulled out of my thoughts when they called my name on to come on stage. I was just eager to meet Supergirl. Just the thought of her made me have butterflies.
Kara's POV
I looked down at the crowd that had been gathered to celebrate Supergirl. I saw Lena and how excited she was tell about me and how her eyes were searching for me.
Her eyes were so filled with joy and the way she talked about Supergirl, it wasn't like usual. Something had changed that I couldn't quite figure out.
The love that people were showing towards Supergirl, how they looked up to her were one thing. But it got me thinking, I would like to want to share this joy and this honour with my family and friends. Whatever was happening, they were happy for me but they weren't happy.
I felt sick when I remembered all those time I shut Alex out for trying to help me. The others for being there for me.
I just wanted to fly to Alex right away and apologize for the way I'd been acting.
" I'm sorry Alex. I'm so sorry" I breathed holding in a tear but it rolled down.
After a while the event started and the statue was revealed.
Then I saw Lena's eyes light up as she revealed the statue, I realized I was smiling just staring at her.
J'onn snapped me out of it.
" I think it's time you start letting people in again. You never know, it's all because you stumbled upon something which wasn't yours, and there is someone out there still waiting to be yours. Maybe you find it now or maybe you had found it before and didn't care about. Just live like any living person or alien. You never know." he said and he was right I needed to stop beating myself up. I had to do it at least for the people who loved and cared for me.
Just when Lena was done with her speech, there was an attack on the waterfront and there was chaos everywhere.
Lena's POV
I ducked down and my guards got me to safety and the FBI and the PD were all over the place trying to handle the situation. I was just being moved towards my car when there was another attack.
"Supergirl" I heard a kid yell.
I looked to the sky to see Supergirl hovering and then she took of to the sea. All of a sudden there was another attack and there were people collapsing at the venue.
" Help them! Go!" I said to my guards and I tried to help some people get out of the stampede. Then suddenly I sprained my ankle and couldn't walk.
I saw my guards and most of the people far of the damaged site. I took off my footwear and tried to limp but I lost tripped and fell. I hit myself and the next thing I know everything is blurry and went black.
