They were placed straight to the meeting chamber without giving any proper welcome ceremony nor had a small bouquet. It's crystal clear that their diplomatic relationship was at the lowest level.

They wanted to deal with a problem and was the responsible party of the rumors but they had a gut to blame all of it on humans? Sure, humans didn't handle the rumors any better but oh please. They were not an angel themselves.
Inside the meeting room, the king was sitting at the leader's chair while the advisor sat next to him. Both of them were sipping their algae tea (probably) elegantly without sparing any glance at them.
