Chapter 1 - Prologue- I Ran Away

{Luna's home}

[Luna' PoV]

Smack! "You dare to talk back to me?! Why are you always such a disappointment to our family! Stop embarrassing us!" My mother slapped me and shouted. "Get out of our house now if you still refuse to admit your mistakes! You are not worth staying and humiliating our family!" My father dragged me by my shirt and threw me at the doorstep. "See! Get out! Told you, you were picked up from the streets. Useless, stupid girl!" My brother sneered at me, with a look of disgust like I was really trash.

I picked myself up, holding back my tears, and walked out of that house, which I once called home. And didn't look back.

Walking aimlessly, I heard the sounds of joy and laughter. I looked around myself and found myself at the beach, surrounded by many little children playing together by the water, parents watching them like their children were the only ones there and families eating together. I used to have such happiness too... but now I have nothing. I sat at the edge of the beach, soaking my feet in the water and feeling the lightness of the waves. I never knew waves could be so comforting. I watched as the sun started to set as if it were telling me that the day was about to end and so did my bond with my family.

Sitting there, enjoying the view and calmness as the water hit my legs, everyone started to leave the beach and leaving me all alone.

I stood up and walked towards the waters as I walk against the waves. Maybe this is for the best... The water slowly enveloped me in its arms, it felt cold. My vision blurred and darkness beckoned. I felt warmth. And blacked out.
