She started and looked up. Ron looked down and a pang of guilt stabbed at his conscience. He smiled gently.
"Hey, babe. I'm going out for drinks with Dimitri. He's already here to pick me up." Ron whispered. She nodded. He crouched down and kissed her forehead, then as an afterthought he kissed her on the lips.
"Make sure you eat something to line your stomach or you'll be vomiting when you get home." She croaked. Ron grinned. He turned to go.
"Ronnie?" He turned back. "May I have your phone please?"
"Now?" She nodded. He hesitated. "I'll give you when I get back."
"Please, the Wi-Fi is acting weird again and mom's asked twice if I saw her email."
Ron nodded and gave her his smartphone. She had opted for a rudimentary phone that called and texted only. The last thing he wanted was his mother calling asking why her email had not yet been replied to. He told Thoko that he would fix the Wi-Fi when he got back and he left.
