(THEA IN JASSY'S BODY'S POV
My slumber was disturbed by the ringing of my phone. It's already eight in the morning as I peek on Jassy's phone. But the call is not coming from there; it must be on my other phone, the one I used as Thea. I abruptly stand up and grab the phone from my bag. It's my mom calling, and I'm talking about Thea's mom, my birth mother. My mom rarely calls at me, even before, and when she does, it worries me sometimes.
She's not that fond of technology and using cell phones. Although, I hope she calls me just because she missed me and not because something undesirable happened. I deliberately went out of the room before answering my mom. I don't want Sophie and Maya to hear me talking with my birth mother on the phone like I am Thea. I don't want to share the complications of my life with them.
"Uhm, hello, mom?" I answer the phone with a very faint voice, and I'm also worried that she might notice the changes in my voice.
