(THEA'S POV)
"Your place is such a beautiful place. What is it like growing up here?" I casually asked, hoping to break the ice and made him get comfortable with me, and maybe somehow he would trust me.
"It's hard," he mumbled.
"What?" I asked back. Wait, what? Did he just answer me? Is he trying to open up to me now? I breathe out. Maybe it will be my chance to help him. "Uhm, why did you say so?"
"It's hard to live in a place where the truth is, people have wanted you to die, and you are hiding behind the people who need you." I can feel the changes in his breath, it's slower, but on the contrary, the pace of his heartbeat was much faster.
He was tense.
He was overwhelmed.
And he was lonely.
The more I can feel that he needed my help.
