it has been some days since ken left shells town with luffy and zoro . luffy just ate and complained about having nothing to do so ken gave him a job .
zoro had the foundation to reach the state of breath of all things already and necessary strenght to perform basic flying slash . for two days zoro tried to comprehend the sword truth by himself but he quickly reached a bottleneck. ken was helpless as his some advice was useless because zoro was a muscle head too like luffy . poor ken ! both his crew mates are like that and one is the captain for God's sake ...
so just like he did to luffy ken thought of 2 simple methods to stimulate zoro's potential quickly . one was to let zoro experience some life and death experiences but it was risky as there was no guarantee and it would take a long time to complete heal for next attempt. so ken chose the second method which was extremely effective.
ken just took zoro's wado ichimonji and threatened zoro that he would have to show him results in a few days otherwise zoro could forget the sword .
zoro being the idiot believed the threat and even attack ken right away only to be taught his place by a bonker on his moss head . in the end zoro was clearly distracted during mediation but still managed to reach the state in just few hours . while zoro was admiring the state of truth as one can feel the connection with sword more easily , ken was satisfied with his choice to threaten zoro.
this idea was actually tested and proven with luffy . both luffy and zoro were talented but one was only interested in meat and other had excessive pride in his abilities. so for luffy ken just threatened him with no meat and weight suit training. for zoro ken took away his treasured sword to force him to think more clearly . hehe.. in the end everything went well . so all is well that ends well .
now 3 of them are nearing their next destination which is syrup island .
"oye ... ken , zoro look ! there are pirate flags on that cliff. shishishishishi. .. we should be ready for a fight " luffy said while laughing heartily but from his crackling fist ken could easily tell that this idiot was excited for a battle.
ken facepalmed and sighed loudly because he was doubting his judgement as why did he choose such an idiot as his captain. he smacked Luffy's head strongly but that rubber idiot only laughed as he felt no pain and his neck stretched for more than 7 meters ." idiot , what battle are you expecting ? cant you see that those flags are fake ? even zoro can see that 3 children are holding those flags .."
luffy showed a shocked expression and finally realised that he had been fooled . while zoro was holding himself from laughing out loud at this idiot but strong captain ..
" shishishishishi.. but why would someone do that? let's go , I feel that we will meet someone interesting on that island .." luffy being a simpleton instantly forgot that he had been fooled and started looking at the island with amusement in his eyes ..
ken laughed inwardly because he already knew that ussop will be waiting there . besides he had seen with his observation haki that ussop was hiding behind the bushes while his legs were shaking from fear . ken couldn't help but laugh as ussop's long nose looked to funny..
