Chapter 4 - Feelings

We were walking on the streets, on our way to the train station. I'm getting worried as to where he'll take me. I realized late when we arrived at an Amusement Park, filled with different kind of people. I frowned at Aaron. I don't really like crowded places. "What are we doing here" I was this close wanting to go home when he grabbed my hand and started rushing towards the rides with long lines.

"I decided to enjoy my remaining life with you" he breathed, catching his breath from all the running. The thought of him dying was unimaginable. I've only spent weeks with him but I'm knowing many things about him. I nodded in response, as he smiles at me.

We started looking around on which rides and attractive places to go. Aaron and I went towards the Viking ship, the ship moved front and back; once it started swinging in a great speed and height, Aaron started screaming so instead of screaming, I ended up laughing at Aaron's reactions and for me it was an unforgettable experience It felt like my soul was left behind while my body was moving down.

Our next choice was to the Roller Coaster, which I really wanted to try and it was totally different experience again. I ended up throwing up and Aaron was laughing his ass off instead of helping me. We had a Dungeon of Terror that was so thrilling and we were screaming at the top of our lungs when we were being chased by ghosts of prisoners in the darkness. It was pretty tough to come out of the maze, still, I kinda enjoyed it.

After a few other rides, we had lunch in a small restaurant inside the Amusement Park. "I can't believe it's your first time in an Amusement Park" he giggled. I rolled my eyes, annoyed by him. I can never go to an Amusement Park for it was all piano lessons for all my life. After lunch was even more filled with excitement— The water games. Being heated by the Happy Swing, we felt it really superb in each and every water game. The day was filled with enjoyment, but it was mostly Aaron dragging me to every ride that catches his eyes.

It was near dusk when we left the Amusement park and I thought we were finally going home when he drags me again to the most beautiful place in the world— the ocean. The horizon stretches across my entire field of view in the most spectacular fashion. A massive expanse of crystal water is all I can see ahead of me with a miniature sail boat glides along the glass-like water. It's white sails perk as it catches the slightest bit of a breeze. This same breeze caresses my skin, keeping it pleasantly warm in spite of the slow fading sun, making me feel like it is hugging me warmly.

We sat on a swing at the side of the bridge.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" gazing at the sky. I look to see a beautiful color which seems to be a mix of orange and pink fill the dark blue sky and colors the puffy white clouds. "It is" agreeing to what he said.

"Why are we here?" I asked. I really love the scenery, I do but I thought he would want to go somewhere aside from here. "The ocean" he started, "Is the most relaxing place in the world. Watching the sun as it goes down here represents that another day is yet to come.." swinging, with his hands on the rope. "It also tells how much time left I have on Earth.." he smiled painfully.

I couldn't help but feel sad for him. I reached for his shoulders and pat them. Being my awkward self, I don't know what to do since I've never been involved with someone so much and I can't just leave him. He held my hand and smiled. A different kind of smile, it was a fake, painful smile. There was a lot of pain behind that fake smile. Sometimes you just have to smile, pretend everything is okay, hold back the tears and keep walking forward.

We sat there for a while, enjoying the sunset. Now, as the sun is setting, the sky is becoming a purple color and the first few stars start to become visible, in a way which seems as though they are peeking around a corner, appearing slowly at first then slowly becomes brighter, like a beacon of hope and happiness. The warmth from the air is starting to be replaced by a chill.

As time passes, the sky progressively becomes a black, seeming to look like a void. The wind is picking up strength and I signaled Aaron that it is time to go home.

"Let's go home" I suggested to which Aaron agreed. I look up into the void that is the sky and I see the stunning bright stars which are now cruelly taunting me instead of offering me the feeling of hope.

"It was fun" he smiles staring at me. We were on a train, on our way home.

"It was"

"I want to go somewhere again..with you"

I hesitated first but if it's Aaron, I think it will be fine exploring places with him. "Sure" smiling at him. He froze for a while. When he realized he was still staring at me, he looked away, embarrassed. I chuckled to his reaction. "Is it okay to feel this happiness" I thought to myself. It has been so long since I've felt this. Will it really be okay?

"..I want to know more about you Louella" he seriously said, looking at me. I've decided that if its Aaron, I'll gladly tell him everything. Because even if we've known each other not so long ago, I feel very comfortable with him. Being with him is calming and I like it.

"I've been trapped in a cage for so long" I began, staring at my empty iced coffee drink that we've bought at the stalls near the beach. "I've never really gone out of the house. After school, I would just practice and eat..My mom would always tell me that everything else is just a hindrance to my success"

"I'll show you.." making me raise my chin to look at him. His eyes, full of eagerness. "That everything isn't a hindrance.. I'll show you how beautiful it is" he said "..if you want" in a lower voice, suddenly getting embarrassed. I laughed about how he tried to comfort me.

"Why are you laughing!?"

I tried to stop but I can't. For the first time again, I laughed hysterically. My best one yet, and again, with him.

"Then show me" I chuckled, still can't stop laughing. He became serious all of a sudden, "I will"

We parted when we arrived at our destination.

"See you next practice" he waves as he walks away from me. I shouted him name, stuttering but it made him look back. I don't know if it's okay to feel this temporary feeling but.. I'll gladly accept it.

"Thanks for today! See you next time" I waved and ran as fast as I could. I felt my face was warming but I don't know if its because of me running or something else. I smiled wildly, feeling like I'm about to go crazy. I'm getting excited as to where he'll take me next.
