Chapter 4 - I - Forever Unstoppable

Jennifer's POV

So, at the very beginning, the Big Bang happened and the world was born - just like anyone was ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) - and god made Adam and Eve--

Kay, my bad. Let's get going.

Halfway through my first year at the place called school, I had made a lot of friends – for someone at the age of 3. But I only remembered a few of them in the later years. As I went on to 1st grade, I started using the school bus and made more friends, two of them being a cute Penny Cordon with deep dimples in which people living in deserts could store precious, precious water; and a skinny and annoying Chase Tribbiani, who, I later realized, was the same kid I saw when I had gone with my dad to pick my brother up from his tennis practice.

In 3rd grade, I met Alex Spinster. He was a classmate of mine, but we didn't really talk much. All I knew about him was that he was a bit shy, was good in studies, and drew really well.

In 5th grade, I met Kim Sa Rang. She was a classmate too, but we didn't really like each other. We'd always fight or just ignore each other's presence. Being equally good at football was probably the most annoying thing. During games period, it'd be a war – Jen's team v/s Sa Rang's team. While the others would be enjoying the games period, we'd be the only ones taking the game of football seriously – scoring goals, shoving and snickering at each other, and in general trying to mock and bring the other down. It was like that all through 6th grade as well, and me being the dirty-mouthed and insensitive person that I was, won the verbal fights almost all the time. But the change in our relationship came when we went on to 7th grade.

The classes had been shuffled yet again. We ended up in a totally new class, where we knew only a few people around us – past classmates and faces that we'd seen, but never approached. Sa Rang and I were the only ones from our old class to have had come to this new class. Being overly awkward, we had sat together, keeping as much distance between us as was possible on the seat for two. A week later, we were pretty much comfortable with each other – so much so that we'd smile as greetings at each other in the morning.

I had noticed the overly comfortable, cheerful and loud group of students in the class. A group of 5 guys, some of which looked familiar. When I realized that one of them was Chase, whom I had grown relatively close to, I went over and dragged Sa Rang with me. I recognized Alex as my past classmate and Justin Yamaguchi too, but I wasn't sure as to where I had met the Asian.

The other two guys were new faces for Sa Rang and me, but it lasted only for a couple of days. To anyone who saw them from afar, Ali Sheikh and James Smith were two polar opposite kids. One was always a bit too hyper and the other looked a bit too hungover. But to us, they were the best duo to ever exist. Their peculiar laughs were a plus point.

We'd sit together every day, and found out that Penny, who'd sit away from us all, was actually really close with the guys. They'd been in the same class since 5th grade and she was practically like a little sister to Alex and Chase.

This, was when our journey together started. Cruising through life with a few rough waves here and there, where we'd hold on to each other's hands and steady ourselves. Pat each other's back for comfort when someone got seasick. And most of all, dance and play all through the night on the deck, lifting each other, for the storm to clear and the sun to shine on us through the clouds that made everything seem grey under them.

This, was when the eight of us promised to be together, no matter what - shouting over the roar of the storm, "To infinity and beyond, we'll be forever unstoppable!!"
