Alyssa couldn't wait for time to pass. She wanted to meet Brodey as soon as possible, but he was still hours away. They were all sitting in Jason's dining hall, when he, to her utter surprise, said, "Why don't you sing something for us, Alyssa?"
She narrowed her eyes at him, as he stared back at he questioningly. What game was he playing at? Well, it wasn't going to work.
"No, thank you," she replied back, stiffly.
"You can sing?" Karson asked, smiling. He looked pleased. And ... there was something else in his eyes she couldn't understand. But when he stared at her the way he was doing then, so intently, she felt a deeper connection with him. A connection she'd never felt with any of her friends before.
Surprisingly enough, he did stare at her like that, and quite often so, as if he was watching her every move. But it wasn't creepy at all ... it couldn't be creepy. Not with Karson's electric blue eyes running so deep and flowy as the ocean itself.
Alyssa blinked. "Yes..." she said, her mind going blank.
"Well, I second Jason!" he said, looking unusually enthusiastic. "Sing something, Liz!"
"And Jason can accompany you!" Parker said in an excited and somewhat pleading tone. "He rarely ever sings at our request, even though we are his dear little friendly poos..."
Jason glared at his friend for a moment, before hissing out, "No, asshole. I won't sing."
Alyssa turned back towards Jason, who was watching her with his dead face so emotionless yet so meaningful at the same time. She raised her eyebrows at him. What was his motive?
He merely cocked his head.
Then she turned back towards Karson. "Well, since Jason refuses to accompany me, so be it. I won't sing either," Alyssa said, faking a pout.
Karson raised his eyebrows, but merely shrugged. "Maybe some other time, then."
He looked disappointed.
