Dhruv nodded his head sideways, staring down at his book.
Meenakshi felt a bit relieved inside. Atleast,he doesn't hate her.
"What am I to you then?" she asked.
Dhruv gulped in the lump in his throat.
"I don't know."
Meenakshi felt her hear breaking again. Was she nothing to him, then?
"Ok."She mumbled and stood from her seat.
"Take your gun back. I don't forgive you for what you did,but I don't believe in taking revenge from you.
That's all."She said coldly and left the room. Though, in her heart she knew that she had forgiven him already.
Flashback off
Meenakshi sighed in defeat. She didn't like the way she kept begging for his attention internally. And everytime, her heart broke with each syllable he spell.
Though 'I don't know' wasn't a direct confirmation about her non-existence in his life, but she expected more.
Something like 'You're my friend!'. Just like he said on his birthday to his guest.
Meenakshi placed the foundation and concealer inside her pouch. She used them to hide the bruises on her neck. She didn't tell anyone about the night. It wasn't necessary for everyone to know and make Dhruv look more miserable. His droopy face already made her feel sad. She wanted to witness how he looked when he smiled, but God knows if she'll recieve that fate in this life or not.
Half of her bags were taken in the truck and half of them placed inside the car. She only had to carry her handbag.
She walked out of the mansion, somewhat feeling nostalgic of this place. How her life changed in this very place reminisced in her mind.
She walked towards the car and encountered Vijay who was loading a few bags in the car dicky.
"Good morning, madam! Where were you for so many days?"
Meenakshi replied back with a smile. She didn't interact with anyone after that night, in order to hide the pain from them.
"I fell a bit sick,so was in bedrest for a few days."
"Ohoo.Why didn't you tell me?"
"Didn't want to burden you with such unnecessary tension."
"Yeah, yeah! Why would you tell me? Who am I to you?"Vijay faked dissapointment.
"No, no. I really didn't want to make you worry about it. It was just common cold."
"I don't want to hear all that.Make it up to me. I'm angry with you."
"Ok! I'll make you a special dish! Happy?"
"Yeah!"His face regained the smile and Meenakshi smiled in relief.
She was about to get into the car, when a strange sensation churned in her belly. It was a bad sign. Something was wrong. But she shooed it away. She saw Dhruv sitting beside her staring outside. She decided to stay the same.
"You didn't tell him?"
Meenakshi looked at him, finding him staring outside.
"No."
Dhruv took a deep breath and didn't reply anything. He knew that if Vijay came to know this, Dhruv's whole character would fall deteriorate in front of his eyes. Vijay believed that Dhruv wasn't one of the monsters who'd rape a woman. Especially Meenakshi. Though,he didn't exactly rape her, but it was kind of an abuse which Dhruv didn't believe doing with anyone.
So, he was grateful to Meenakshi for not telling him anything.

As the car drove, Meenakshi grew more uncomfortable. She felt the same sensation.
"Why do I feel like this?"
"What is it?
Meenakshi looked at Dhruv who was still staring outside. He looked at her from the corner of his eyes. It looked like he read her thoughts.
She was about to speak when a blast occurred in front of them, deafening their ears.
Meenakshi felt a sharp pain rise in her head but her mind got diverted to the figure that was lying on the seat unconscious with his forehead drained with blood.
"No! Dhruv!"
She wanted to touch him, but her senses defied her and soon her vision drowned into the ocean of darkness sending her into oblivion.
