"Did you accidentally say the wrong thing?" I can't help but doubt what she just said, I was bewildered since it was such an unrealistic claim, so I questioned her words, expecting that what she said wasn't actually what she means.
"But then, nearly everything that happened to me is unrealistic as well, still..."
"Well, I am sure of everything I just said." she replied with a straight face, my eyes widened.
"S-so, all those times I helped that boy... and manipulating the laws of Earth, actually happened?" I shaked a little while asking for confirmation.
"Yeah, they did." she, again, replied with a straight face.
"That'd mean that all the embarrassing appearances I had was actually seen by someone..." this thought stupefied me.
"Especially that time when I was covered in feces dressed as a stable boy..." I felt goosebumps, to be seen like that was scarier than being in a seemingly haunted forest. Since I have a reputation to uphold.
"Snap back to reality, will you?" Of course that did brought me back to reality, she then continued, "Anyway, as I was saying, you were temporarily sent to this world in the form of dreams, truthfully, even I, a goddess of Fate, don't know why this is happening." she explained.
"What's weirder is the fact that you were always with Ignis when you were in this world..." she continued... Her explanation would have shocked me to death under normal circumstances but my mind has already stopped processing information properly, I've had enough surprises today so I don't think even this kind of BS would still shock me.
"Ah... I guess that that's... logical... Not that I know how that's logical though..." I mumbled with a lifeless voice.
"Sorry for the shocking revelations, but I had to tell you these things since I really need your help. I have more to say so prepare yourself." she apologized with a warning about the upcoming avalanche of shocking revelations, it made me sigh big time.
"The reason behind this is because a string of fate has been connecting the two of you..."
"String of fate?! Are you per chance talking about the red string of fate?!" My jaw dropped.
"So does that mean that we're..." Just when I had my hopes up...
"No. There are all kinds of strings of fate." she shattered it, it was to be expected but I was still disappointed.
"A red string of fate connects you to the person you're destined with, in fact, you have one surrounding you..." my eyes lit up, expecting she'll tell me who my red string of fate was connecting to.
"But it doesn't connect you to anyone, for short, you should just love yourself, you have no future companion." with a single statement, my hopes and dreams were shattered. What sucks here is she looks completely serious.
"Hey!" I ended up bawling for a few seconds.
"Yeah, you're an unfortunate soul, but let's get back to the topic." After mocking me, she then inspected me.
"There are 4 kinds of strings of fate, they're separated by color and every person has them all. I'm sure you already know what the red string of fate represents, so I don't have to explain that one. Which boils my explanation to the rest of the strings, a blue string of fate represents all of those you'll be acquainted with in a positive manner, a green string of fate represents those you'll have problems with and a yellow string of fate represents your future emotions. But you and Ignis has an extra one...." she elucidated.
"..." It was long but I was listening intently, even though the lingering shock from awhile ago is still here.
"The string of fate connecting you and Ignis is colored in black... " she looked at me with a disturbed and mystified expression.
"Is it that much of a problem that that string of fate has a unique color?" Honestly, I still don't understand how much of a bad thing that is since all of these information are new to me.
"Of course it is, it means that something has tried, or has rewritten your fate! That's extremely dangerous! If your or anyone's fate is rewritten by someone that isn't a goddess of fate, chaos might descend onto multiple universes!" she raised her voice in anxiety, I felt her distress. My blood drained from my face, I didn't know how much of a great consequence a unique colored string of fate can bring.
"T-then, why are you requesting for me to go interfere in this world? Wouldn't that bring more trouble?" It was the most rational question I wanted to ask after her disturbing utterances.
"Because fate is already forcing you to be a part of this world, and to be involved with Ignis for some unknown reason, I decided to bring you here myself and tell you things you have to do." she responded with an explanation, then she continued, "Perhaps fixing his supposed fate can bring things back to normal."
"Please help, Faustina Airhart. I really do need your cooperation." she pleaded earnestly once again, I can see the sincerity in her eyes. I was kind of stunned that she knew my name, but then it was understandable.
"So you know my full name, huh... You're a goddess of Fate so that should explain it." I mentioned that part first and carried on with what I actually want to say, "I'll be glad to help, but I'm worried for my mom and my sister..."
I had to express my worry for the family I might leave behind if I accept, I would have refused if there was no sufficient reason but now that I know why she wants me to help, it's making me want to do so but I'm still uncertain if that's the correct decision. I can't just leave my family.
"I'm not the breadwinner of my family but still... I can't just leave them behind."
"Don't worry, their determined fate won't put them in trouble, and you'll be in a coma in your world while you're here." she gave me a simple answer, although it didn't put me at ease, it was able to stop my hesitation.
"They'll be in more danger if I don't agree here, anyway..."
"Alright, I'll help you." and that is how I agreed to her request.
"Great! I'll send to this world with an identity now!" just like that, she snapped her fingers with an enthusiastic smile for me to be sent to somewhere, without giving me a chance to take a break and process everything in my mind.
I wanted to retaliate to her sudden decision but it was too late.
I was already teleported to somewhere...
In an alleyway as a beggar with rags as clothes.
"YOU GODDAMNED GODDESS!" I cried out my frustration over what that annoying goddess did.
"Maybe I shouldn't have agreed to help her at all. But it's for Ignis too so maybe it's also a good thing."
