Sitting her feet firmly on the ground, Adler quivered in my mind, sending goose bumps over my flesh. He needed to cool his jets, I had a lot to speak to her about before he was allowed to take over. He wanted to rush me, but I refused to let him. I could feel her curiosity start to grow.
"Where are we going?" I smiled at her, her blue eyes alive with excitement, and I felt it infect my own emotions. She bounced beside me as we slipped into the woods that surrounded the back side of the school. I kept a close eye on her as she slipped between the trees a little distance from me. Using much of Adler's sense of smell, hearing, and his ability to scent the air. I knew the wear about of ever living creature around us. I was going to keep her safe no matter what. She reminded me so much of the legend I heard as a child.
