I ran my hand down the side of her face. She didn't react to the touch. Adler wallowed in self pity and depression. But I knew Harper better than this, she wasn't a quitter. I put my forehead against hers and shoved away Adler's emotions focusing on my own. The happiness she brought me, the frustration she caused me, the way my heart fluttered when she held onto me on the back of the bike, every piece of emotion that she caused in me.
