I sat in the car as my father drove down the highway, after two plane rides and a 2-hour car ride were approaching the school and I felt the depression linger inside me, suffocating all my other emotions. I didn't have the energy to feel nervous, or excited. My father turned to me and I didn't have the energy to meet his gaze.
"It will pass...it is that way when I am away from your mother for too long." And a lightbulb went on over my head.
"If you and mom can work it out--" He shook his head and took a deep breath.
