Chapter 2 - Idols

If Prim can only have the ability to deactivate her hearing sense, she would have done it already. However, the only option in this case is to cover her ears to minimize the noise that their whole classroom been hearing for an hour. She glanced at her friend, Elise, who had her earphones on while nodding her head to the music. Adding up to that, her movements did not only look eye-catching enough, but she also ended up singing, breaking the concentration of the room. Prim watched her classmates chuckling and shaking their head. Some classmates were also pleadingly staring at her, telling her to stop Elise from singing. Prim sighs and smiled at them before looking at her friend who still didn't know what's happening.

She noticed the rhythm of the song and felt very familiar with it. Prim wondered when will Elise grow tired of the song. This music served as the title track for Elise's idols as their first-full length album. Her friend was really ecstatic when they announced that they will be having a comeback after a full ten months. Elise didn't stop humming or singing the song after the release. It looks like she really waited for that comeback. Though the lyrics she's singing were incorrect, it didn't stop her friend from singing that music. She didn't even know whether if it's really correct or Elise just made it up. Prim get herself together before tugging Elise's sleeves to catch her attention. "Elise..." she murmured, her jaws gritted. She turned around to face her classmates and noticed that they are now becoming irritated from the noise. Prim looked under the desk and search for Elise's phone, yanking the earphones causing for Elise to stop singing.

Prim honestly become guilty when she took the earphones of Elise because she knows how aggravating it is. But Elise has given her no choice. This following hours was a self-study session and it's very important for them to study and concentrate because mid-terms will be at the end of the month. Elise realized what Prim had done when she looked at her phone that is now on Prim's hand. "Hey!" Elise expressed her discontent, but Prim simply gave her a smile. "I assume you are aware that we're in a self-study session for our mid-terms that will happen this month. So, it is critical for each of us to manage our time and study in an environment FREE of NOISES and DISTRACTIONS so that we can still concentrate." she said and emphasized the words for Elise to understand.

Elise stiffened and observed her classmates and smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry, classmates. You can continue reading now, I won't make a noise." Elise said and crossed her heart to them. Prim saw her classmates finally turning around and flipping their notes as if they were not surprised from what happened. She didn't know how many times Elise had done this already. For the fact that some of our classmates were also becoming like Elise. Just like her friend, they, too adore someone and as a result, they can become rather noisy and chatty. However, other students in the classroom still wish for them to cease talking about their idols for a while.

"Elise, really, you've really picked the best time on listening to music." Prim sarcastically said to her friend. "Mid-terms is just right around the corner and you have to focus on your studies. Please remember what you're Dad told you." she continued. Elise tiredly sighs, "I know, I know." Prim looked at Elise worriedly, "You have to concentrate okay? I'm not stopping you on idolizing your idols but too much will hurt you, Elise." She continued on convincing Elise to focus but she knows that Elise is not completely listening to her. Her friend of hers is quite stubborn. "Okay, OK. Miss President, I will listen to you. You're such a nagger." Elise teased Prim to ease her friend's nervousness about her studies.

When Prim heard what Elise said, she rolled her eyes and opened the book about 19th century. She was indifferent to the noises around her as she was absorbed in her book. She didn't have to worry about the classes because they were being self-assessed at the time. Being in college, the professors didn't bother checking to see if they were reviewing or not. Professors simply reminded students that midterms were approaching and that in order to pass the exam, they needed to work and study hard. When the bell sounds, Prim is not quite aware of how long she's been reading. She noticed Elise and the others, who are now in pain, relaxing their backs. Elise groaned as she placed her palm on her stomach, "It's finally over, and my stomach is already reminding me that it's hungry."

"Learning is exhausting! My brain cells can no longer tolerate it. I'm becoming queasy and I think my head is ready to explode." she held her head acting as if she had a headache. "And now that I'm feeling nauseous, I'm afraid I'm going to puke. And if I puke, all of the food in my stomach will be gone, therefore I'll be hungry." then she put her hand to her mouth and stomach as if easing it to not be painful. "And if I study and study, I won't have time to eat, which will cause me to weaken, causing me to lose consciousness and faint!!" she dramatically put the back of her hand to her forehead as if she's fainting.

"You know, you could be a theatrical actor." Prim commented. "Shh!" Elise shut her mouth by putting her index finger to her lips. Elise immediately straightened out and continued, "Then I'll be hospitalized, but because my immune system isn't strong enough, I'll be so weak that I won't be able to leave the hospital, so I won't be able to go to school. It will soon cause me to become depressed, which will lead to my death." Elise cried while wiping away her crocodile tears as if she were about to die.

Prim shakes her head and asked, as if she were a panelist, "So what's your conclusion?" she gazed at Elise while holding her laughter. "My conclusion is that studying must be forbidden because it will lead us to death," she remarked tragically.

Prim shakes her head helplessly, "Don't you think you're exaggerating too much?" she asked while laughing. "You don't need to focus always on your study that will make you neglect yourself. You know what they always say, 'Study First' but I think that you should think about yourself first in order for you to study and graduate." Prim said. Elise then wondered, "But that phrase, 'Study First' is a phrase about love right? You need to study first before entering into a relationship."

"I know," Prim said with a smile, "but don't you think that before loving others, you must first love yourself?"

Elise was left dangling because of her friend's statement. Prim checked her watch, saw the time, and quickly gathered her bag and books before leaving the room. And she's in a flurry, she hasn't even said goodbye to her friend. Elise, too, had no idea what Prim had done and was shocked to discover that Prim had abandoned her!

"B-but you just promised me that you will treat me to lunch..." Elise suspend her hands in front of her trying to catch Prim. Her voice slowly minimized when she saw Prim hurrying outside of the door. Elise scratched her head and murmured further, "The next time I see her, I'll really make her card empty." She gathered her belongings under the table when she noticed some crackers with her notebooks. Elise looked around, and when she noticed her classmates weren't paying attention, she quickly hid it inside her purse. After understanding that no one could see what she had done, Elise relaxed and began tidying her desk. She felt a tap on her shoulder and asked, "Yes?" without looking at the person. She felt her phone vibrate, checked her phone, and discovered it was a tweet from her idol! She'll be the first to like and comment on this tweet. Elise turned around to face the person who had tapped her on the shoulder as she was looking at her phone. "Do you know where Prim is?" inquired the man in front of her. Elise overheard the student's remarks and immediately notified him of Prim's whereabouts. Maybe they're gonna ask Prim about something especially that she's part of the student council.

"Knowing Prim, she'll be in the library again reading stuffs. You know how Prim can be, she's such a nerd! She don't know how to enjoy life, she don't even have a boyfriend yet! How can she live like that? She's always focus on her studies. At first, I thought she's been reading romance novels or like comics, but I found out that she's studying! Can you imagine that?! But if you pester her, I'm going to smack you--" She lifted her head when she saw that she's been speaking for nothing. The person who asked her is now gone! How rude is he? She could only scratch her brow and turn back to her phone, where she would check her idol's Instagram account.

But Elise is unable to concentrate because of a person sitting in the farthest seat in the classroom. She scowled at him, "How long are you going to sit there?" she asked irritably. "Are you high or something?" he queried, sitting like a monarch, delicately extending his palms to his ear. "No," Elise replied, her face furrowed. She grabbed her suitcase and fled the room, her attention fixated on her phone, after responding. She could feel him standing up and following her, but she ignored him. "Elise," he said in an irksome tone. "Stop!" she shouted. "What do you mean stop?" he asked, smirking even though she couldn't see his face. She ignored him once more and was browsing her phone when she came across something that attracted her curiosity. She adores reading, hence if she sees a synopsis that piques her interest, she will add book to her library. He teasingly called her again when he observed her ignoring him yet again. "Elise~"

She wrinkled her brows, swatted the fly (him) that was annoying her, and focused on reading the story's prologue. It piques her interest due to the book's cover and title. The cover depicts a knight wielding a sword, with a distant realm in the background. The title is "Fallin at Goodbyes," and the lead appears to be male.

'All his life, he didn't let himself getting attached to someone. He don't have any friends and even if he have one, he will leave again and said "Goodbye," without any explanation. He don't have any reason to do that. He don't have any illness, he also don't have any bitterness about other people leaving him or such. In fact, he's the other way around.

He's used of living alone. Living alone in a castle that keeps locking him from the world. Even if he had found one he love, the one who he wants to spend his entire life with, he still left her. He'd already said his goodbyes, yet that person kept approaching him. He's certain that when he said it, he'd never see that person again, but what is this? Why does she keep popping up?

He saved her life, and then, by chance, it's the other way around. That word had suddenly become obsolete. As if he's already fallin at goodbyes.'

Elise's eyes twinkled as she finished reading the synopsis. The plot is intriguing. Jupiter realized that yelling her name was not going to get her to pay attention to him. He came to a halt and let Elise continue walking however, Elise was unaware that he had stop. She's too absorbed with her new book to see what's going on around her. "Mars~," Jupiter remarked abruptly in a tone Elise despises. Elise came to a halt as she became attentive of her eyelids twitching. When she turned back, she saw Jupiter approaching her as if he were a lady. "Hehehehe," he 'shyly' chuckles before calling her again. "Mars~"

(A/N: Imagine Zenitsu calling Nezuko and you'll know😌)

This time, Elise couldn't take it any longer and walked towards Jupiter, who was running but was still a long distance away from her. Elise scoffs, noticing that he's purposefully slowing down. Elise gripped his hand and gritted her teeth, "Stop it," she whispered, pulling him along with her. "You're paying attention to me now," he replied with a smile. "You're really grating on my nerves, you dare to address me as Mars?! And you're calling as if you have some new gossip to tell or as if you're seeking to beg money from me!" Elise groaned and rolled her eyes.

Jupiter chuckles, "What's the harm in calling to yourself as Mars? After all, it's your name," he says, staring at her before turning to look where they're heading. "Why did our parents feel it's necessary to name us before the planets?" Elise inquired and blamed her father, who discovered his friend calling his son Jupiter, which inspired him to name their unborn baby girl Mars.
