Jasper couldn't sleep a wink that night. He kept turning and tossing in bed until he couldn't take it anymore. He tossed the sheet and got to his feet at the same time he grabbed his cellphone from the nightstand.
It was nine in the night which meant she was still awake - Scarlett was a night owl. So he called her without much hope of her picking up, and as expected, she didn't answer.
Jasper sighed, at this rate he had no choice but to tell the truth. It was obvious that keeping up with this secret was tearing his relationship apart and he might lose her in the process of keeping her.
With that decision, Jasper called her one more time and to his relief, he picked.
"Scarlett, please don't hang up till you -"
"Who's this?"
