Chapter 6 - CHAPTER FIVE

'Hmm... what a shitty dream.'

Leila tossed and turned, trying to enjoy the soft and comfortable feeling of the bed despite her sour mood. Her body feels so light and relaxed, how many months has it been since she slept so well?

But somehow something feels tight, was it the blankets?

Cool air blew and a fragrant scent of flowers entered her nostrils, she frowned.

'That's odd. I don't remember having flowers in the house. Did Lieselotte buy one? Or was it another one of those shitty tactics those annoying suitors of hers who seem to find it romantic to leave random gifts in front of the door?'

She was about to return to the land of dreams once again when she felt all the oxygen in her body suddenly retracted, Leila's eyes flared open.

She thrashed wildly. 'What the heck is this drowning feeling?' Her body felt warmth rather than the usual freezing feeling when submerged underwater and there was no water entering into her nose or mouth.

Apart from that, she can't even see anything but blurred bits of silver. Leila tried to swim to the surface for air, but she was drowning in something that wasn't water, rather, it felt like being engulfed in a cool velvety silk-like feeling.

Just when she lost all the strength in her body and her eyesight became blurry from being oxygen-deprived, something---or someone pushed Leila upwards with great force.

It's as if she was in a bending position underwater, her body slowly broke into the surface starting from her chest then up until her head finally reached the top.

"GAH!"

Leila greedily gulped down heaps and heaps of air until her strength finally came back and her brain began to finally function properly.

'What the heck's going on?!'

The first thing Leila saw after her eyes cleared was that she was in a place completely filled with sparkling red and hybrid roses growing in some sort of white soil---or sand thingy.

"Woah, what is this place?"

Between the cluster of petals, were shimmering gorgeous diamonds that even without a professional jeweler's appraisal, she knew would worth thousands of dollars.

The sweet fragrance that she smelled earlier in her sleep grew more addictive the longer she bathes in its presence, and the luxurious dark shade of red of its petals was vivid yet warm and pleasing to the eyes.

The whole place was bright and there were tiny dot-like glowing things that looked like fairy lights flying around in different colors.

At the far end, where the sea of roses stopped spreading, stood huge shining walls made of glass that also reached up to form a slightly drooped octagonal ceiling.

It was a place straight out of a fairy tale story.

'Somehow, I've been seeing or visiting a lot of fancy greenhouse gardens lately.

What's this?

Did I unconsciously develop a garden fetish?

Meh. There's no way that would happen.'

A soft gust of cold wind suddenly blew over Leila, the sudden drop of the temperature made her shiver.

She lowered her gaze and immediately used her arms to cover her chest when she realized that apart from the strange white soil thingy, where her lower torso submerged, she was naked as a newborn baby.

Leila hadn't felt anyone or any presence of any living being in the place, but she still instinctively turned her head in all directions for any signs of people who might be watching.

When it was affirmed that she was the only one here, Leila let loose a breath of relief and pushed herself up to stand.

She expected the process to require a bit of a struggle because the white soil-thingy resembles quicksand. But the moment Leila planted her hands on it, the white soil hardened like stone pavement that glowed underneath her palms, and the ones that submerged her lower half transformed itself into what looked like melted silver with that velvety feeling, and Leila was able to easily pull herself out.

"There better be no perverts ogling around." She murmured to no one in particular.

With nothing around that can be used as clothing, Leila contented herself with only her hair ridiculously long enough to cover her breasts and walked towards the door.

Lieselotte may be better than her when it comes to beauty, but Leila always wins at the killer bod department

Besides, even if someone managed to see her naked, she could just slice off their dick off or gouge out their eyeballs.

It's not like there's anyone around to stop her anyway.

"What a dilemma."

Leila celebrated a little when she discovered that the luxurious greenhouse garden is attached to an even more luxurious white marble palace the size of an enormous mansion, thinking she had food, shelter, and clothing crossed out from the list.

When she opened the glass door of the garden, everything was plunged in darkness. However, the moment Leila stepped out, the place suddenly lit up revealing a corridor with white marble pillars supporting glass that serves as walls and matching white marble flooring with golden textures.

Every bit in the palace, to its rooms, furniture, down to its very dust, were created to flaunt the wealth and power of the owner. And only when she properly inspected that Leila realized that the source of light was coming out of oval-shaped diamonds embedded on the marble walls. Considering the size of the place, she couldn't imagine how many zeroes of the thing were needed to light up the whole place.

Leila seriously considered if the whole palace was sculpted out of a meteor-sized crystal and she had to check once or twice to see if the fabric of the curtains were made out of normal threads not out of pure gold. Thank god it was just normal fabric, but heck it was still luxurious.

Still, the thieves would have a field day bagging the place

Everything was just perfect. The magnificent palace in front of her was a mansion version of that white queen's palace from the live-action of Alice in Wonderland, minus the cherry blossoms.

'Whoever owns this place, I salute you.' Leila exclaimed in her mind, traveling her eyes at the luxurious sight. 'I mean, this is just crazy.'

It would've been perfect if it had not for the fact that it has been abandoned, there was not a soul nor an insect in the place.

Leila assumed, since the palace was so clean and well-kept, there must be at least hundreds of people residing in it.

But boy was she wrong.

The whole place was absolutely deserted.

'What the heck? Did Thanos visit here, snapped his fingers, and turned everyone into diamonds? Maybe that would explain the crazy amount embedded in this place.'

Not to mention how ridiculous she looked, walking all around the place stark naked with her mouth half-open. No matter how gorgeous Leila's body is, there is a limit to how arrogant she can be.

With that in mind, she combed the place until she found a room filled with clothing and immediately dressed herself up.

She was a bit uncomfortable since there were only strapped heels that match the dresses, but it was better than walking around barefoot and getting blistered.

The first time Leila saw herself in the mirror, she was beyond surprise. It was still her face and her voice, but there were major traits that definitely changed.

For instance, her slightly wavy dark chocolate brown hair grew up to her waist and her brown eyes turned into a dark shade of red wine that looked bejeweled.

All the excess fat disappeared forming her ideal hourglass body shape. Her skin soft, supple and was basically hairless. The scars she got from fights disappeared, her nails were uncracked and a shade of cardamom petals, she grew taller and her incisors replaced into legit vampire fangs.

"I'd definitely give Aphrodite a run for her money." She pressed her reddish lips in a thin line and narrowed her brows in deep thought. "I know my beauty is inferior to Lieselotte, but now---my sex appeal just exploded into an immense degree."

All the dresses in the closet were Greek and Roman-inspired so it explains the strapped heels. Leila also saw a lot of accessories, hairpieces, circlets, and other things but she had no idea how to wear them.

She felt like a character out of that Spartacus movie with her silk burgundy red sleeveless dress held up with gold clasps in each shoulder, a gold medieval-style girdle hung to her waist, the pair of gold strapped heels, and the simple brass armband which Leila placed on her right arm.

After a minute of wondering how she'll spend the rest of the day, Leila took the chance to get to know where she was, what kind of world she was reincarnated to, and if possible, whatever happened to her that drastically changed her body.

The ginormous library was one thing, but it'll take her at least a century before Leila would find the answers that she's looking for. Books that hold the most important information were usually kept in the studies based on movies, so Leila took her chance there.

When she pushed open a particular large door to a room, she presumed a study, Leila sighed in relief when she saw the titles engraved on the spines of hardbound books.

There was plenty about history and politics on the shelves, but she decided to start that one book that caught her eye the most.

It was a pretty thick book with a white hardbound cover and embellished with silver letters creating the words 'Palace Manual'.

At first, Leila was a bit weirded out because normally you only need to have manuals on appliances to learn how to use it, but for a palace to have one, there's definitely more to the story.

She flipped open the white hardbound cover of the book and began the day of endless reading.
