It's been a week and I still refuse to give him my attention. I don't know what's wrong with me but I don't care as of right now. Eli and I have been spending majority of our time together outside of class and in the cafeteria to eat. When I seem to be in the cafeteria I don't see any signs of the man anywhere. I must look paranoid to Eli.
"Hey, I've noticed your skin getting paler June are you sick?" Eli asks me. I feel my forehead and take a sip of my water bottle. I shake my head a shrug my shoulders. "No I feel perfectly fine. In fact I feel better than usual." I respond. I mean it does sound weird but I haven't noticed myself getting paler, I guess Eli just has a good eye. The only thing I've been worried about lately is my loss for appetite in food. I usually eat a lot more than average but lately I haven't been hungry. I tell Eli I'm on a diet so that she doesn't worry. My stomach was churning at the subtle thought that maybe I am sick and I head to the bathroom. I throw up but only a little bit. I rinse my mouth out after I wash my hands to get the bitter taste out of my mouth. When I walk back out, I don't see Eli anywhere. Maybe she went to head over to her next class already. I look at my watch and start walking to my next class as well. Before I turn the hallway I run into the weird man. I had bumped into him suddenly turning the corner to fast. "I'm sorry sir I-." I stop myself when I look up. My hands are planted firmly on his stomach. I knew I was short but damn. I could feel the heat from his skin through his shirt. I panicked and quickly put my hands at my sides. Why is he so warm? Is that normal? I clear my throat and step back from him so that we weren't so close. "What I meant to say was that you should watch where your going." I say. I look up at him to see his reaction. Of course... he's smirking at me.
"I'm sorry, I should've been looking ahead of myself. Was that the response you wanted? It's nice meeting you again." He chuckled. I scrunch my nose for a second as I do when I'm agitated. "My name is June, and hi. Now can I get to class?" I ask impatiently. He look at me and frowns. "Yes, and my name is Julius." He says. He looks at me for another second then turns and walks away. What a weirdo. I head into my last class. The only class I had by myself for the day. When I get to my dorm I see that Eli is already asleep. I decided to take a shower and head to bed too. I'm glad tomorrow was Friday.
I woke up in the middle of the night to throw up again. When I came back out of the bathroom, Eli was sitting upright in her bed. "Is this a part of your new diet?" She asked me. Shit. Eli opens her arms and makes room for me on her bed. I hug her tightly. I jump because her skin was just like julius's hot and very warm to the touch. "Mm June your cold. Why are you throwing up?" She whispered to me. I rest my head under her chin and sigh. "To tell you the truth I haven't been eating. I lied about having a diet." I whispered back. Eli moves her head so that her eyes met mine. A beautiful dark blue. Like the Icy ocean of the Atlantic. "I'm glad you told me the truth. Have you been seeing a doctor? If you aren't sick then maybe your a vampire who only has the taste for human blood." She chuckled jokingly. My eyes brightened up. That's right, vampires. My mom told me about them the most. They were nocturnal creatures who fed on humans with a thirst for blood. They had pale skin and were cold to the touch, they're fangs were sharp enough to cut through skin too. I shivered. Out of all the creatures my mom mentioned that lived in the outside realm, vampires were the scariest. "My mom did mention vampires to me when I was little, she said they were apart of the outside realm. She loved talking about them." I say smiling at Eli. Talking about mom has always given me comfort. But when I looked at Eli her icy eyes nearly glinted off of the moonlight. She backed up a little. "Y- you know about the outside realm?" Eli asked. She looked excited and scared at the same time. My smile widened. I knew humans were rarely aware of the outside realm.
"I do! I know about werewolves, Fae, and witches too. " I tell her. She seemed to be in complete shock. "You think that it's just a story?" Eli asked. I had always believed what my mom had told me was real. One day she had mentioned that I would fit in with people like me here. I believe that I may be apart of the outside realm. I shake my head. "No I think its real." I say. Eli grins and puts her hands in my lap. "Humans entering our territory is a rare sight." She said. I guess she had figured out my mom was human. Territory? Oh I see. "So what are you then?" I ask her. "I'm a werewolf, if you haven't noticed my hot skin. I'm glad you've never seen my bad temper though. And I do love meat!" She laughed. My mom also explained the traits of a werewolf as well. They love meat, they hated vampires, they had sharp canine teeth and bad tempers, hot skin and a weakness being under the full moon. "Yea I know all about weres. They are the enemy of the vampire species." I say. Eli frowns. I burrow my eyebrows together in confusion. "Yea our ancestors and theirs never got along because we are both the moons children, therefore we have to share the night." She explains. Like spoiled siblings fighting over the same toy. Huh. "If your mom ever visited my realm maybe I could ask about her for you." Eli tells me. I yawn and we lay down together. I get up for a second to grab my moms journal, to show Eli. I lay back down with her and open it. "I almost forgot to tell you about my moms journal. I was hoping this may have hints about me, and my father." my mom didn't have many entries but yet I was still scared to continue reading. I was afraid that I wouldn't find what I wanted in here, and that she'd leave me to think about who I am by myself. how cruel. I lay my head on Elis arm and knock out.
