Fingers set them down right by the entrance to the cave. Thick white webs barred it closed to outsiders. Only a sword could get through them.
"Another cave…" Ermos complained, suddenly regretting choosing it. "Well, I suppose it's fine, since this one can't run as deep."
"Can I take the lead?" Pash asked. It was a rare request from him. "I want to see how my strength has changed," he explained.
"That was the plan," Ermos said, motioning for his apprentice to go on ahead. "Your sword," he said, pulling it out from within the folds of his robe.
"You brought it," Pash stated, his eyes glinting with surprise.
"Of course."
