The giants' eyes widened in horror and they all looked thoroughly traumatized. It took the Giant King a few moments before he even realized that he'd killed one of his brethren.
He lifted his hand up out of the way, just in time to see the headless corpse fall face forward. Harkin and the rest had to run out of the way, lest it crush them, or even drown them, for the blood squirting from its neck was nothing to be snivelled at it. It could probably fill a whole reservoir if it was left to do so.
The Giant King saw the blood on his fingernails, coating his especially pale flesh. It did not take him long to realize that such an amount of blood could not have been caused by a human. With a giant's corpse on the floor and blood on his hand, it was obvious who had killed it.
Even the near timeless being that was the Giant King froze up when he saw the mistake he had made. Ermos rushed along the heads of the other giants as the King merely stood there, looking down.
