Cake Island, also known as Whole Cake Island, is composed of large cakes and cream.
In the center of Cake Island stands a massive strawberry cake-shaped city fortress. It towers over the entire island, and when viewed from the top, the houses in the neighboring town next to the fortress appear as small as matchboxes.
At the top of the colossal fortress, there is a specially designed spacious room.
This is the bedroom of one of the Yonko, "BIG·MOM," Charlotte Linlin. The walls and ceiling are decorated with pink and white polka dots, and the furniture, including tables, chairs, benches, teacups, and teapots, all have anthropomorphic features, seeming to frolic around the room.
At this moment, Charlotte Linlin sits at a table not far from her bed, humming a tune, thoroughly enjoying her afternoon tea.
She is tall, and corpulent, with thick lipstick and light purple eyeshadow. Her pink sundress is stretched to the brim by her ample figure.
"MAMA, are you in there?"
At this moment, Perospero's voice is heard from outside. His tone sounds somewhat agitated, causing the cream-covered Charlotte Linlin to furrow her brows in impatience.
"Perospero!"
"I told you not to disturb my afternoon tea time." Hearing Charlotte Linlin's slightly impatient tone, Perospero feels a chill inside, but he still musters the courage to speak.
"Sorry, Mama! There's something very important I need to inform you about."
"Oh?!"
Charlotte Linlin's eyes shift slightly towards the door, freezing in the act of bringing a piece of cake to her mouth.
"Open the door for him!"
"Alright, Mama!"
The features on the wooden door twist into a grin, and the entire door slowly swings open on its own.
The brightly lit room, the warm layout, and the teacups dancing like something out of a fairy tale should make it an inviting space. However, to Perospero's eyes, it feels like walking into a lion's den.
He nervously swallows, looking at the tall figure in the seat, a hint of fear flashing in his eyes.
"Mama…"
Entering the room, Perospero respectfully bows.
Charlotte Linlin swallows the last piece of cake, her expression exaggeratedly blissful as she savors the sweetness. Then, her expression shifts to a calm focus, silently gazing at Perospero.
"Speak, what exactly has happened?"
"Yes! It's like this…"
Perospero doesn't dare to hide anything, and he meticulously recounts every detail from the offerings that couldn't be delivered due to the turmoil on Poly Island, to Oven leading troops to teach them a lesson, and later going silent. Katakuri steps in, one thing after another, and he reports it all to BIG·MOM.
Throughout this process, he's soaked in cold sweat, the sticky syrup clinging to his body, making him extremely uncomfortable.
He occasionally glances up at BIG·MOM's expression, his heart pounding. However, the expected rage never appears. Charlotte Linlin's expression remains consistent as if she's listening to something completely unrelated.
"So, that's how it is, Mama."
Perospero takes out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from his forehead. He grips the cane with both hands, holding it against his chest, as if this motion brings him a sense of security.
After listening to the account, Charlotte Linlin remains calm and eventually speaks, "Is Katakuri still alive?"
"Yes… Yes, he is."
Perospero bows his head, pulling out a Vivre Card that's now only half intact from his sleeve.
Charlotte Linlin's pupils contract and she continues to inquire.
"What are Whitebeard and others doing now?"
"Akagami (Red Hair) appeared on Malton Island a month ago, Whitebeard's [The Moby Dick] is roaming within his territory, as for Kaido…"
Perospero has a foreboding feeling in his heart as he answers repeatedly, "Since the last battle with the Marines, we haven't been able to locate him."
Whitebeard doesn't seem like the type to do something like this. Moreover, Malton Island and Poly Island are diagonally positioned in the New World, and coming over in a month's time is too tight.
So… is the enemy "Hundred Beasts" Kaido?!
Perospero shudders at the thought.
In that case, Katakuri's defeat is understandable.
Even Future Prediction isn't an invincible ability. The strength of the Yonko is truly terrifying. With careful planning and an unexpected move, even BIG·MOM can't be sure of a victory.
"I see…"
Charlotte Linlin murmurs slightly, then, to Perospero's astonishment, she bursts into laughter, "Chī Chī Chī! I think I have a pretty good guess about who it is… You've all done well with this, Perospero. You truly are Mama's beloved children!"
"Mama… Mama, this…???"
Perospero is even prepared for BIG·MOM's Soul Curse to take his life, but this statement leaves him pleasantly surprised, his mind filled with confusion.
Why is Mama praising them?
Doesn't withholding information still count as a serious offense?
"Assemble the Anger Legion. Take my tea party invitations and set off ahead of time!"
Without waiting for Perospero to ask, Charlotte Linlin directly issues the command. At the same time, she reaches out and produces an invitation with human features that can sing, placing it in front of Perospero.
"Set off ahead of time!!"
"Doesn't that mean?!!"
Perospero's face was filled with shock, but he quickly realized the situation and hurriedly stepped forward to take the invitation, then bid farewell and left.
As he watched Perospero leave, Charlotte Linlin's cheerful expression instantly disappeared, replaced by an overwhelming aura of hostility and killing intent.
"'Soryu (Azure Dragon)' Rowen… It's rare to see you in a vulnerable position."
"If you accept my invitation, we can pretend like nothing ever happened."
"But if you refuse… Hmph!"
…
At this moment, on Poly Island, Rowen was still unaware that his most troublesome situation had already occurred.
Just as he was lifting Katakuri out of the water, a figure swiftly approached from the distance.
Bang!
With every step, the newcomer stomped a circle of dust and smoke into the air, appearing as if they were bouncing in a somewhat comical manner. In the blink of an eye, they arrived in front of Rowen.
Rowen glanced at him, said nothing, and hoisted Katakuri before flying towards Poly Island.
Seeing this, the newcomer's expression froze for a moment. Then, with a wry smile, he obediently chose to follow.
Plap, Thud!
They landed on the shattered coastline of Poly Island, and the newcomer immediately dropped to one knee, pressing their knee into the damp sand.
"Rowen Sama, Shichibukai 'Fujitora' Issho has already leaked the news about the birth of the Dark-Dark Fruit according to the plan."
"Mm, I know."
Fujitora had set off long before Rowen, so it wasn't surprising that he had completed the initial plan by now.
Rowen nodded and tossed something aside.
Pū Tōng!
Katakuri's head struck a rock, and he groaned weakly in his semi-conscious state, indicating that he was about to wake up.
Rowen's mouth twitched. He raised his thunder halberd and delivered a swift blow to the back of Katakuri's head…
Duang!
Katakuri remained motionless.
After finishing these actions, and finding it strange that the other party hadn't left yet, Rowen turned around and raised an eyebrow. "Is there anything else, Lucci?"
The newcomer was none other than Rob Lucci, the "Genius of CP-9," who had joined CP0 two years earlier!
At this moment, he was dressed in a white suit, with the government's Cross flag draped over his back – an attire exclusive to high-ranking CP agents. He also wore a mask similar to the faceless mask of a demon.
Upon hearing this, Rob Lucci, behind the mask, smiled bitterly. Did he really need to explain what was happening to Rowen?
But he didn't dare to disobey orders. Lirisk had instructed him to assist Rowen fully in handling this grand performance. He couldn't afford even a hint of dissatisfaction, so he could only dutifully answer the questions.
"That lord said the target hasn't taken the bait yet, so you can make a commotion here if you want. But, uh… but try not to cause too much chaos. Don't push BIG·MOM's pirate crew to the brink of desperation. Otherwise, it won't be easy to handle over there."
After speaking, Rob Lucci felt that his words were quite contradictory. He was afraid Rowen might think he chose the wrong words, so he quickly added, "These were the exact words of that lord."
"Pah! Trying to make a horse run without giving it any grass to eat. How can there be such a shameless person in the world?"
Rowen's mouth twitched, and he grumbled impatiently.
Rob Lucci lowered his head.
I didn't hear anything… I didn't hear anything…
But in the end, Rowen sighed, waved his hand, and said, "Alright, I understand the importance. This move wasn't originally part of the plan. The Fleet Admiral suddenly issued the order to provoke BIG·MOM. Don't blame me."
"Let him wait and watch the show in peace… I'll handle things here. You all make good use of your time. Don't wait for me to arrive and find that nothing has been arranged, understood?"
"Understood!"
Rob Lucci felt a great weight lifted off his shoulders. After nodding, he cast a cryptic glance at Rowen before using Geppo to leap in the direction he came from.
To single-handedly take on BIG·MOM's pirate crew, is such an unbelievable feat, yet it still couldn't capture your attention.
Rob Lucci couldn't help but feel alarmed.
Rowen's sole focus on the plan undoubtedly meant that he had complete confidence in dealing with BIG·MOM's pirate crew.
Rowen watched silently as he walked further away, his mouth curled in disdain.
"Fish dying and nets breaking… BIG·MOM doesn't have that kind of temperament!"
