On the way to the aquarium, they were talking about random stuff like always laughing at some of the stuff. they even talked a bit about the world Ren came from and how everything worked there. "so you can actually turn into a wolf? like a real live big wolf?" Aku asked fascinated, loving all kinds of animals, as they had been talking about some of the powers in the world like shapeshifting since Aku had been curious about what kinda animals he could be bound to. "yes I can and I am a grey wolf with white shimmers. I can also turn into a raven and that is obviously black" he said with a chuckle as Aku had sparkles in his eyes wanting to see even tho he knew Ren couldn't show him in the city. "what is the last animal?" Aku then asked looking at him his eyes still sparkling wanting to pet all the animal's Ren could turn into even tho it's probably isn't a good idea to pet a wolf normally but that is what made it special for Aku. "that is a secret" Ren answered with a teasing smile and a wink making Aku pout lightly as the aquarium got into their field of vision. "stop pouting and let's go!" Ren said as he started pulling Aku along by his wrist to the Aquarium.
Ren bought the entre tickets and as soon as They were inside Aku was already running around excited about all the fish in different colors swimming all around Him. Ren caught up to him and they began walking through the aquarium together studying all the different fish. "these are så pretty!" Aku said, fascinated looking at a gorgeous purple fish swimming around near the glass with its buddies. "You always had a thing for animals," Ren said with a smile looking at Aku having his hands pressed up against the glass. "Well they are so beautiful and interesting and I just love the thought of how the same material made so many different species!" Aku said while Ren chuckled a bit because of Aku's almost childlike excitement. He chooses to ignore Ren laughing at him.
Aku noticed some staff were handing out folders for a dolphin show happening soon. "should we take a look?" Ren asked, probably noticing Aku's passion shining in his eyes. In Ren's eyes, Aku probably looked like an excited child wanting to go see a dolphin for the first time even tho he had seen these shows a lot over the years. Aku nodded enthusiastically and Ren smiled a bit amused but Aku didn't really care about himself looking like a child at this point he just wanted to see the dolphins. they went and got the folder from the nice staff. It had a lot of pictures of the dolphins on it and a map of the aquarium on the backside. They had to go to a big tank with seats outside where they could watch the show.
Ren had kept an eye on Aku while they had been out thinking he would be more freaked out or just be worried or nervous but Aku seemed completely relaxed looking at the folder happily "I am pretty surprised about how relaxed you are about everything actually" Ren suddenly said looking at Aku with a small smile. "well would you like it better if I freaked out? I feel like there would be a better chance of me getting hurt if I freaked out plus I don't feel like anything will happen here" Aku said with a shrug looking around at the aquarium at all the relaxed and peaceful people. Ren followed his eyes and understanding how he thought with all the peace around them it felt like nothing could go wrong and Aku was right about there wouldn't be any attacks or anything with this many people around. attacks from the outside at least but you never know what would happen with a double royal and all that power together in one person so he just nodded to agree, making Aku smile a little as he studied the folder carefully with sparkles in his eyes looking at the pictures of the dolphins happily.
Following the map closely They found the place rather quickly, Aku checked the time on his phone and noticed they still had 5 minutes till the show started so they could find some nice seats in front. Luckily for them, it was a sunny day in the middle of July so they wouldn't be sitting in the rain or something while the show was going on. "let's take the seats in the front!" Aku said walking over there excited, not even letting Ren complain about getting wet or something like that. Ren often tried to complain about stuff like that but Aku's trick was just to hurry and do what he wanted to do before Ren got any chance to say anything. Aku watched the dolphins closely as the show began not even caring about the chance of getting wet. they had made some jumps and tricks when Aku noticed the weird buzzing feeling again being all around him. as He focused on the feeling it felt like his mind opened up to some completely new senses and feelings like he felt connected to all the life around him both the people and the dolphins. Aku closed his eyes feeling a big headache right in the back of his head like a hammer hitting the back of his brain. Aku held his head in his hands a little not sure what was going on as he felt the life around him as lights some weaker than others as the headache grew worse. Aku suddenly felt a gentle hand on his back and he looked up at Ren seeing his bright life around him as a beautiful light. "are you okay?" Ren asked worriedly, seeing a very dim light in Aku's eyes telling him the powers had awakened somehow even if just a little. "I'm fine I just got a headache but I'll be fine," Aku said, forcing a small smile as he somehow stopped seeing the light and the feeling went away together with the bad headache. Aku tried to recall the feeling to see it again but it didn't come back like it just disappeared then. Aku tried to ignore what had just happened as he sat up straight trying to focus on the show again but he couldn't forget the feeling and the beautiful sight he had seen and how it just went away made him feel a bit sad somehow.
"Hey, are you okay? are you sure you aren't feeling sick?" Ren asked Aku for the third time now making Aku slightly annoyed. "I said I am fine, I just need to go to the toilet and wash my face for a bit okay?" Aku said as calmly as he could being annoyed and feeling hot and cold all over like his blood started to get all hot just to give him shivers getting cold and the feeling was back but this time it felt like he could see the negativity around people like a dark cloud around him giving him a sense of unease. Ren nodded still looking worried, wanting to follow but Aku just fled to the toilet and closed and locked the door so Ren couldn't follow. Aku sighed relieved as he leaned at the door for a little before looking around the small toilet room with a sink and a big mirror above it and one of those older toilets where you have to pull a threat with a handle on the end to flush it. Aku walked over to the sink and splashed some water in his face before holding his hands on the sides of the sink, resting looking down into the sink as the feeling suddenly got even worse to the point it was painful, his blood boiling just to freeze to ice before it boiled again. when he looked at himself in the mirror his skin lighted up so it looked like it shifted from a bright light around him till some dark aura around him as it kept changing between those with the pain. his skin was pale and almost white and his hair was completely black and his eyes looked kinda scary if you asked Aku. his right eye was completely black and the left was lighting up white. his whole body was pulsing harder and harder making him hurt from the power rising in him till it felt like he got a shock through his whole body and then darkness overcame him as he faintly felt himself falling to the floor...
Aku felt cold as He was standing in the middle of the darkness. He looked around trying to figure out where he was but all He could see was pure darkness. He couldn't even see his own hands in front of his face. Aku was beginning to think about the chances that he had gone blind with the weird things that happened with his eyes earlier when He felt a threatening presence nearby. Aku tried to say something but nothing came out like something forced his mouth shut to just experience what was happening. "who are you?" a familiar voice suddenly said in the Darkness. "no! don't!" The voice suddenly yelled as Aku felt his body fill up with fear and anxiety before a loud high pitch scream in pain cut through my brain and the darkness around him and suddenly light exploded all around him to the point he was feeling like that time he might really go blind...
"Mom!" Aku yelled shooting up from the bed he was suddenly laying on. He looked around surprised and confused before he remembered everything that had happened and the unease from the dream was still there making feel cold and hollow by his heart. he heard a shriek from a female voice and looked in the direction shocked his body heating up in slight fear as he got to see a nurse running out of the room. Aku felt a light tuck at his hand so he looked over there shocked and saw Ren slowly making his quickly beating heart calm down as he looked down at his hand being held by Ren and felt embarrassed as he slowly tucked his hand out of his grip feeling awkward. "Well nice to see that you are okay enough to still blush and thanks for not burning my hand," Ren said with a small smile and first then Aku noticed his body had stopped warming up when he saw Ren was there. "I would never burn you on purpose..." Aku said feeling both embarrassed and slightly offended somehow not sure why it offended him. "do you wanna explain what happened in that toilet?" Ren asked looking at Aku and Aku nodded as he noticed Ren seeming a bit... sad maybe? Aku wasn't sure but something seemed wrong but Aku didn't wanna press on about something Ren might not want to talk about. Aku nodded fine with talking about it wanting some answers about what happened then anyway so he told Ren about it in detail.
Ren looked deep in thought about how to explain what happened before he looked at Aku with a small smile. "Well the best way for me to explain it I think would be that right now you are filled with a massive amount of raw power you don't really have any control over yet," Ren said to explain looking at Aku to see if he followed his explanations and Aku nodded as to say he understood that "because you have never trained or tried to control the power you have because you never knew about it, it kinda just exploded into your veins to show you it was there so you have to learn to control it for it to not do that again" Ren finished explaining with a small smile still making Aku wanna smile but didn't as he thought about what he had said instead.
Aku suddenly felt that dark presence from the dream again and the scream he heard in his dream played through his mind giving him goosebumps. "my mom is in danger!" Aku suddenly said getting out of bed fast jumping in his shoes making Ren look at me perplexed. "what?" he asked, confused. "my mom is in danger! I can feel it!" Aku said again looking at Ren seriously being 100% certain he was right. luckily nurses hadn't changed his clothes into hospital gowns. "are you sure?" Ren said doubtfully as he stood up and followed trusting Aku but also skeptical since it sounded pretty weird even for him. "yes I'm sure!" Aku said walking out the door and out in the hall. His tone full of fear and anxiety made Ren follow, understanding that Aku was sure he was right so he just had to believe it for now.
Some people tried to stop Aku and Ren on their way out but they just ran past them, Aku being in a hurry and Ren having to follow. Aku felt like power and energy were running through his veins like never before, it was like he was completely charged up and it even made him able to run faster than Ren even tho he never had been able to before because he never really did many exercises in his free time. he felt light as a feather and faster than ever so he ran through the hospital without problems and soon he was out of the street running back home with Ren following right behind him the whole time.
Aku saw the apartment in the distance and he sped up running even faster. Ren had been right behind him but all the people slowed him down even tho Aku found his way through easily running in between all the people to his apartment. When he came to the door he went in and started running up the stairs. "who are you?" Aku looked up hearing his mother's voice above him before sprinting up the stairs even faster knowing it was happening like in his dream already. "No! Don't!" Aku hears his mom yell as someone pushed into her apartment and a crash like she had been pushed into something or they broke something. he could hear some yelling he couldn't make out just as he got all the way up the stairs. he ran to the already half-open door suddenly hearing a scream of pain and horror from his mom as Aku felt dark energy in the air "Mom!" Just as he ran inside getting to the living room a bright flash of light made him stumble and close his eyes tightly the light being sharp enough to go right through his eyes and into the brain with pure pain. After a minute it was like my eyes just got used to the light like his brain had flipped a switch. He opened his eyes and saw a beautiful yellow-white light and in the center of it, his mom was sitting against the wall like she had been pushed down there. The light was warm and nice as it hit his skin but he noticed how the wall she was up against had black marks up it and so had the floor around her like it was burnt. The painting on the wall a little beside his mom was smoking and so were some black figures on the floor against the other wall or their clothes at least. "mom?" Aku whispered to her walking over sitting down in front of her worried. He noticed that none of her clothes had been burnt and that she looked fine enough except for a few scratches.
the light slowly dimmed down and his mom slowly looked up at him having tear streaks down her face. "Aku?" she asked like she wasn't sure as she looked at him a little worried. "yea it is just me mom. those guys that came in here seem to be unconscious for now... are you okay? why were they here?" Aku asked his mom worried about her but also pretty sure where these people that tried to hurt his mom were from but he wanted his mom to confirm it. "I am fine, just tired... it has been a long time since I had to use my powers like this..." she said looking around with a sad look as she tried to get up. Aku helped her up and over to a chair as Ren finally ran into the apartment looking tired and out of breath. "What happened here?" he asked, a little confused but he tensed up when he noticed the black figures that were still smoking slightly.
